Maybe we went at the wrong time..

We were underwhelmed by our experience. There were a few (very few) shops we liked. Most of them don't seem to even make their own products. A lot of it was very tourist-y. We did... read more

We were underwhelmed by our experience. There were a few (very few) shops we liked. Most of them don't seem to even make their own products. A lot of it was very tourist-y. We did go in February which is a slower time in the Smokies so maybe the shops were not as stocked up as they are when the... More

This is situated in the Glades community and has so much to offer as far as seeing crafts made, little out of the way cafe's, scenic beauty, and many shops. If you are traveling to Gatlinburg please take the time to visit this community. You will not be disappointed!

I was disappointed in the Arts and Crafts Community. First of all, the traffic was horrible to get there from Pigeon Forge to Gatlinburg, and took us 3 times as long to get there as we inched along. Then when we got to the Arts & Crafts, it just seemed worn down and unattractive. We just turned around and left... More

Wonderful respite from the crowds in other locales? Great variety in the establishments, especially Misty Mountain.

The local artists are wonderful and so talented. Each time I have visitors, I take them to the Glades community and other artists haunts. They are never disappointed and I am forever seeing new and interesting things also. It is not to be missed!!

Pottery, paintings, pictures, wookworking and jewelry. What more could I say. I have found so many wonderful things in this area.

The craftsmen and women here are amazing talents. I wish I had won a lottery as I would have spent that whole amount on the things I saw here.

This "loop" was a little bit hard to find. Allow plenty of time. Of course it depends on how long you stay at each stop, but 1/2 day won't hardly do it. As you meander along the route, shops are tucked here and there. Sometimes in a cluster, sometimes as a single. Some are older and in need of updating.... More

Wide variety of things. Most made by locals or not too distant locals. It is great to get to meet the people who do the work and in some places watch the products being made. Some very good craftsmanship. Our houses are filling up with things we buy there.

if your into crafts and something hard to come by that is homemade then you need to visit, we have invested in pottery and original paintings of light houses, the work is absolutely awesome
