About 100 artisans sell things they make, like brooms, birdhouses, soap, jewelry, and food items. We enjoyed the woodworking and glassblowing, as well as many other craft exhibits. The pottery is especially lovely.

Go out and check out the local Arts and Craft Community. 10am-5pm Friend People and they will tell or show you how they made the things they do.

Lots of places closed on Sunday. The workmanship and quality was amazing. We enjoyed the candy shop and the wood carving place right by it (sorry...forgot the name). The Forge was nice too.

We definitely have our favorite stops on Glades Rd. Each year Alewine Pottery and Whaley's Woodcrafts get at least one visit from us on our getaway. Just remember on Glades Rd the shops with the brown Arts and Crafts community signs are the real deal. The others are newer to the area and don't have the history the others do.... More

You could spend all day shopping. Lots of great little shops and some not so great. My recommendation is to just drive through and stop when you see a cluster of shops all within walking distance. Then you can get out and check out the shops that look interesting. Once you have hit a dozen stores, it all starts looking... More

We loved the majority of the shops, a few seemed like they got away from the hand crafted way. The vast majority were handmade lamps, pottery, paintings, jewelry and other beautiful crafts. Our kids were a little bored after the first 20 shops but each one had a different niche. Wish there were more shops like this in the downtown... More

This is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of downtown gatlinburg. You can spend an entire day or two visiting all of the shops. These folks are masters of their crafts and kind of get overlooked by the average tourist. Smoky Mountain Sauces is one of the shops that sticks out to me, they are... More

Family trip to Gburg and we decided to do the Arts and Crafts loop. What a nice day! Our sons loved stopping at the different shops, trying the fudge and snacks for different places and even listened to live bluegrass music. We ended up purchasing several items, both for ourselves and as gifts. We didn't stop at all the stores... More

The Arts and Crafts loop is so much better than the touristy T-shirt stores in downtown Gatlinburg. Make sure you have time to visit this loop on your trip. We only had two hours, so we didn't make it the whole way around, but we did visit a good number of stores. So much variety, the shop owners are so... More
