Many shops were closed, hopefully it was because we were shopping on a Sunday. Found numerous gifts for friends and family, much better shopping than downtown.

We drove the 8-mile loop and saw many interesting shops and restaurants, offering an amazing array of crafts and locally made products. The most fun, though, was checking in with Eric Arensbak at A Troll in the Park, and getting directions to Troll Mountain, so we could see how the world famous Arensbak Trolls are actually created. We will definitely... More

We drove to the Arts and Crafts Community, and I felt like we spent a lot of time stopping, parking, looking around then repearting. Some of the stores have nicely made local products, others have mass produced commercial ware.

Take the ride. It's only 10 miles of some of the prettiest in the country...Bonus-great local souvenirs, made by locals-many while you watch!! Plan a whole day of it-pack a picnic or grab something along your journey...lots of choices! Get a map at the Gatlinburg welcome center.

Disappointed! Choose to spend last few hours of afternoon doing this instead of hiking our last day here. No artisans to see, run down , overpriced, almost dead area. Big waste of time. Whittlers wood store at the beginning of the loop was interesting forget the rest. One store had nice pottery but it was WAY overpriced (think $30 for... More

this is a nice drive and you will meet a lot of amazing and friendly people but most of us only need so many nature prints or candles. we continue to go around the loop every visit though simply because we do love visiting with the locals

This area and the route provided a unique look into some of the American crafts that we might lose. It is nice to go into many shops and not see imported JUNK, but actually see items made in the area and also discuss the process's used with the people there.

The loop is a great way to spend a morning. We stopped at many of the craftmans stores. There are painters, leather craftmans, candle makers, wood carvers. So many I can't remember them all. The drive is worth in it self.

Favorite place to visit. Everyone was very pleasant and nice to talk to. I would rather have spent more time there than anywhere in Gatlinburg

The arts and crafts community is a great way to spend a day. The quality of the items is superb and the crafters are friendly and do not push you to buy anything. Take time to browse and also to watch some of the artists at their tasks.
