Visited Smoky Mountain Anglers on our visit to the National Park as my son is an avid fisherman. The employees were super friendly, knowledgeable and had tremendous fly fishing expertise. Highly recommended for visitors fishing in the Smokies!

Neither my wife and I knew anything about fishing! We have been coming to the Smokies for years, and had always seen the guys in the streams throughout the park and thought it was intriguing. This year we decided to give it a shot, and based on the reviews we saw here, we booked a 1/2 day trip. We had... More

These folks are just the best! They have been most helpful in getting my husband and I stared in one of new hobbies....fly fishing. Our guide was EXCELLENT, we learned tons of things from him as well as the folks in the store. We have shopped there several times and have always had a great experience. They were very imformative... More

Went there to get a fishing permit for my daughter. Shop was outfitted nicely, but what was really impressive was the older gentleman that worked there. He was a really nice guy with a lot of knowledge of the area, and the type you want to buy from again. I will definitely go back.

my son wanted to go fishing, it was a bit confusing with all of the sites online etc... so I found this place (maybe the only one in town) they have just about everything you need. We purchased 2 rod and reels and some other items and with the help of the staff they pointed us in the right direction.... More

Excellent experience for first-time fly fishing. All necessary equipment is provided, and transportation into the park is with your guide. Mark was so patient and knowledgeable--tailoring our trip to our lack of both skill and stamina (LOL). The fish were definitely biting--my husband caught a couple of trout and I caught several large trees. If you have to be in... More

My wife and I wanted to go Rainbow Trout fishing, we are from the NC coast and own our own charter service for Off shore Fishing. I called the week before we were to be in Gatlinberg and set everything up. The day of our guided trip we arrived at about 0730, our guide was already there. As soon as... More

The Smoky Mountain Angler & guides Jeff & Chad are responsible for my addiction to fly fishing! They are always great & very knowlegeable/ helpful.. Bought my 1st REAL fly rod & real outfit there (4 wt. 7 1/2ft.). Since then, I have HAD to go fly fishing on the Hiwasse River & other East Tennessee streams, as well. Jeff... More

We used the Smoky Mountain Angler for our guided fly fishing trip. They provided all of the equipment (rods, reels, flies, waders , boots), and you could get your fishing liscense from them. There were only 2 in our party, and so we rode from the shop to the river with the guide (about 20 minutes). We went up into... More
