We just got back from a week long trip to the Smokies, and our time spent with Smoky Mountain Riding Stables was one of the highlights. The ride through the mountains was great. The horses were all gentle and well trained, and our guide Billy was fantastic. We had a wonderful time.

We took a late afternoon ride, the horses were very calm and well behaved. They gave my son a helmet and the guide took my sons horse directly behind him so all my son had to do was hang on. It was a very slow, relaxing ride and the guide gave us the history of the stable. I would take... More

My wife and I have ridden horses plenty of times and have even been to this location (a year ago) and never had a bad experience. This one was bad. We got the last ride of the day which may have had something to do with it. The horses were jumpy and tired. They did not seem well cared for.... More

After two years of coming to this stable the feelings haven't changed. All the staff and guides are so friendly and the horses are very well behaved. Great for all ages and the trails and sights are beautiful and adventurous. Would never go to any other stable here in Tennessee!

If you are looking for a quiet stroll .. er ... ride through the forest - this is your place. Alan took we three ladies out on a chilly November afternoon and we enjoyed the respite from hiking. There are no fast moves or brisk trotting but we didn't want that anyway. Worth a visit. Be sure to say hello... More

My husband and our two teens were on our way to sugar land but found this place first. We were greeted with southern hospitality and felt comfortable from the start. Our guide was witty and pleasant with just a few cowboy jokes. The horses were extremely well disciplined and trained. We will definitely recommend this place to others.

My wife and I regularly ride when we take vacations. The riding trail used by Smoky Mountain Stables is by far the most beautiful we have ever taken. The 8 mile trail took us into the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and was full of peaceful natural scenery. The guide, Gary, was incredibly personable and a lot of fun to... More

My husband had this on his list of things to do on our trip to the Smokies, but I was a little apprehensive. To make him happy I went and was very glad I did. It was not scary at all and the views were fabulous. We ate lunch at the top and proceeded to take the ski lift to... More

I was in the area with three of my kids and we chose the two hour ride. The guide was friendly and familiar with the area. It was a great family activity, but it wasn't cheap.

Follow the directions on the website carefully to find this place. Since it is part of the park, there is only one sign at the entrance and easy to miss. The parking area and stables are located behind a band of trees making it difficult to see from the road. No reservations are required and we were saddled up and... More
