We dropped in due to the lure of free fudge samples. We were able to try the dark chocolate salted caramel I think. It was yummy. We bought the traditional chocolate with walnuts which was also good and fudgey. There were many flavored to choose from. They also sell hard candies of many stripes and cute dried soup and rice... Awesome selection of fudge in every imaginable flavor. My favorite was the Salted Nut Roll. Other flavors that my family enjoyed were Red Velvet, Mint Chip, Oreo, and of course, their famous Maple Bacon. Large selection of other candies, jellies, coffee and other edibles to enjoy on the spot or on the road. You won't be disappointed.

Tons of samples and a huge selection of locally made eats makes this shop a no brainier for anyone looking for something sweet or spicy. We headed home with some strawberry-rhubarb jam and fudge for the long trip down the north shore. The shop keep was friendly and attentive without being too overattentive...

This is a great place to visit while in Grand Marais. The fudge is great plus they have a number of unique gifts. The owner, Chelsa, always has a smile on her face and a happy disposition. Did I mention the fudge is great. We never miss the Gunflint Mercantile when in Grand Marais.

This is one of the very best places to visit when in Grand Marais. Chelsea makes the most outstanding fudge in all the land!!! Not only that, but her charming handmade aprons are to die for. The pasta, dip mixes, soup mixes, rice and beans are wonderful. I've sampled many varieties. She now stocks delicious, locally made Jams and Jellies... More

We visit the Mercantile every year when we're in town. The fudge is the best in town and the kids absolutely love the 'old-fashioned' candy. The dip mixes and soup mixes are great too. This is a must stop when you're in town---check out the maple bacon fudge...it's our favorite!!!

We stop there often and it's the best fudge, truffles, turtles and owner. It has lots of other great things, homemade aprons, homemade canned veggies and jams. I have had numerous items from there and was never disappointed. They have a moose kids can sit on and have their picture taken with

Gunflint Merchantile is an absolute "must visit" if you are going to the north shore! The owner, Chelsey, makes THEE best fudge and truffles in the whole state of Minnesota!! The shop has lots of fun and interesting items to purchase too! Plus, you can place online orders. Another "must buy" are the pickled pea pods! Karen C.
