We provide half-day and full day tours that are perfect for the entire family (kids aged 4 and up).Departing from the scenic town of Page, Arizona, your trip will begin with an exciting and exclusive ride down the two-mile long Glen Canyon Dam access tunnel. At river level, with the dam soaring 700 feet above you, you will board a comfortable pontoon raft for your journey downstream. For the next fifteen miles, you will experience one of the most dramatic stretches of river in the western United States. Your experienced guide will tell the story of the area’s soaring sandstone cliffs, crystal blue-green waters, abundant wildlife, exploration by Major John Wesley Powell and others, and the river's modern role in the Southwest’s water and power delivery system.A stop to view an impressive set of ancient petroglyphs will offer a you chance to stretch your legs and enjoy your lunch while bearing witness to the area’s former inhabitance by ancient native cultures. If you choose, you may also refresh yourself by wading in the cold, clear river. The river portion of your trip ends at historic Lees Ferry, gateway to the Grand Canyon. Here you will board your bus for the short ride back to Page, where your vehicle or other transportation awaits. « less

We took a 4 hour smooth water rafting trip from the Glen Canyon Dam to Horseshoe bend and back. Our young guide, Ashley was informed, efficient and fun. The check in staff and the security agent were great. All in all a great way to see a majestic canyon.

My husband and I took this trip as a experience on the Colorado River. We were not disappointed and it was what we expected. Well organised and totally safe, it was a great way to see the canyon from the river, which is a totally different perspective than looking down from the top. Our guide Jennifer, was very knowledgable on... More

Although the trip has been shortened because of the road closure, we found the flat water float great to take in the beautiful canyon walls. The bus ride to the dam was in a two mile long tunnel which was very cool to experience. All in all we had a great day on the river!

This was definitely a float trip, not a rafting trip. We received contradictory information about where the trip started, where to stay, and what to wear and bring. The "gourmet" meal was far below our expectations. On the positive side, the kayak trip in the afternoon, which was subcontracted to Hidden Canyon Kayaks, was superb and to be highly recommended.

The kids and adults both really enjoyed the raft trip. The kids loved sitting on the outer part of the raft where they got splashed every once in a while. The scenery was beautiful. Guide was knowledgable. Box lunches were good especially the Thai chicken! There was a lot to see in Page we would have liked to stay another... More

It was amazing. All of the staffmembers were proffesionals and very nice to us. Our river guide Brent was amusing and it was pleasure to go with him. He also played some indian song on flute for us. Wonderful experience

This trip is very well organized from the get-go. However, I was surprised to find that the bus transports passengers through a dark 2 mile long tunnel to get to the raft. It was a bit creepy but I wondered what someone would do with a legit phobia of this?! It seems trivial but I think some would like to... More

My wife and I booked the 1/2 day rafting trip being forewarned of the additional time it would take to travel to Page from the south, in our case Sedona. I read the reviews on Tripadviser before making the arrangements so we were prepared for our trip. We were both very pleased with the staff and our guide who provided... More

Our family of four from Wisconsin just returned from the Grand Canyon. One of the highlights was our trip down the Colorado River with Colorado River Discovery Tours. I booked the trip before the road was closed and unfortunately, CRD had to shorten the Page to Lee's Ferry trip so we only went as far as Horseshoe Bend. Since the route was cut in half, we basically floated slowly to HSB, then back to the Dam. It was a little boring and even though a beautiful day, the... More
