Description: Colorado River Discovery offers the most fantastic one day rafting trips...
Colorado River Discovery offers the most fantastic one day rafting trips anywhere on the mighty Colorado River. We provide half-day and full day tours that are perfect for the entire family (kids aged 4 and up). Departing from the scenic town of Page, Arizona, your trip will begin with an exciting and exclusive ride down the two-mile long Glen Canyon Dam access tunnel. At river level, with the dam soaring 700 feet above you, you will board a comfortable pontoon raft for your journey downstream. While on the River, you will experience one of the most dramatic stretches of river in the western United States. Your experienced guide will tell the story of the area’s soaring sandstone cliffs, crystal blue-green waters, abundant wildlife, exploration by Major John Wesley Powell and others, and the river's modern role in the Southwest’s water and power delivery system.A stop to view an impressive set of ancient petroglyphs will offer a you chance to stretch your legs and enjoy your lunch while bearing witness to the area’s former inhabitance by ancient native cultures. If you choose, you may also refresh yourself by wading in the cold, clear river. Come and visit the river that we love... You'll be inspired!

We took the half day trip. Our river guide Nate was excellent. He was knowledgeable of the history of the area, going the extra mile to even sing our group a lovely song that echoed through the canyon. A great lunch, beautiful scenery!

Glad Rad Brad was our guide. He was funny, very informative and even serenaded us on the river with his guitar. The ride on the boat was fun. Didn't fall overboard which is always a plus. We packed our lunch which was tasty. No words to describe the magnificent views. Well worth the time and money to enjoy river time... More

We so enjoyed our Smooth Water Rafting Trip with Colorado River Discovery. Guides were excellent, friendly, and fun. Lunch was delicious. Being on the river for 5 hours with this company was probably one of the coolest things we did at the Grand Canyon this year. Highly recommend!!

Our guide was EZ and he was great. He knew so much history and geology and told great stories. He also serenaded us as we calmly floated down the river. Went in mid-April and a cold front had come in-was very cold and windy, so be prepared and dress in layers.

Five of us did this river rafting trip. It was a great experience. We loved the ride and the stops along the way to go swimming in the Colorado River. The temperature of the water was very cold but it was really actually very stimulating. We learned a lot about the Navajo Indians and the area around the Colorado River... More

We did the half day float trip and had an amazing time! Our guide was DJ who was extremely knowledgable about both the landmarks and the birds. You end up stopping at a Sandy beach for about a half hour where you can see petroglyphs (and there is a bathroom). The river water is 47 degrees so all we did... More

We booked a few months in advance to do the full day trip and planned our Grand Canyon trip around it. It was brilliant. An amazing day out. Difficult to know what to wear in early spring so we put lots of layers on and took hats and sun cream. We needed all of this. You need to be there... More

The trip goes from the bottom of the dam at Lake Powell to a point just beyond Horseshoe Bend and back. There is no white water so you don't have to worry about being thrown overboard. The scenery is breathtaking! There is a stop at a sand bar about halfway through the ride and my wife took a dip in... More

We went on a half day smooth water rafting with this company. Half day is perfect, the whole day might be too long. Very organized in their tour. Andrew, was our tour guide, and he was well-versed of the history of the Lake and of John Powell. He was very entertaining even to kids. The experience is wonderful, with serene... More
