Great photo op!

This is just a lovely little place and the Lady that works the counter is THE most interesting person! It is right on the river with beautiful flowering trees, a replica of the... read more

It is always great to go to new/undiscovered places with an open mind to whatever possibilities exist, but to find that there is a HUGE source of ready made, locally based information about the area is even better and immensely enhances the experience. This Visitors Center is tremendous, and the attendants inside are an even more intimate source of information.... More

By the outside you expect more. Too small and cramped. A nice cabin outside of Billy the Kid's but inside really not enough information

This is just a lovely little place and the Lady that works the counter is THE most interesting person! It is right on the river with beautiful flowering trees, a replica of the house Billy the Kid grew up in, a great mural and a life size cut out of Billy the Kid to have your picture made with. I'm in the visitor center business so I like to see what places have for display. This one had beautiful photos but, otherwise I didn't see displays. Docent was very helpful and informative. We're glad we stopped before exploring The Big Ditch.

This is a great place to start when visiting Silver City. Rebecca was very friendly and helpful. She helped us find some transportation which worked out very well. A nice place in a nice city.

Stop here, it's a pleasant experience even if you already know where you're going! There is a short video in a loop and we found it very helpful in getting to know the area.

Our first visit to Silver City so we went and found the Visitors Center. Very nice building with a replica of Billy the Kid's cabin on site as well. Inside there is quite a bit of information on the area. But we received the best information from the woman who was manning the desk. She informed us that the Bikes... More

We are RVING so the big, inviting parking lot was a plus. You can park there and visit the center, then cross the Big Ditch bridge to the historic area. We had a delightful two days in that area. Another thing we found fun was the full size Billy the Kid photo op! The lady who helped us was very... More

The Silver City visitor's center is chock full of great information that can help anyone get oriented or learn of current events in the region. There's also an interesting log cabin in front of the Visitor's Center. It was used in a movie filmed in New Mexico and was subsequently donated by Ron Howard. Take a look inside for a... More
