I grew up in Williamsburg, so I was very curious to see this "new" attraction. It's a lot of fun. The beer is good, with lots of variety. It's also relatively inexpensive for NYC. The "tour" is more of a lecture, but it's filled with fascinating information.
If you're in the neighborhood, don't miss this one.

My husband, friends and I took a trip out to Brooklyn to tour the brewery. It was good fun, the guides were informative. You can buy wooden tokens at the start of the tour to purchase beer at the bar at the end. There's no food, but they allow you to bring in your own to sit at the picnic...

We made the trek all the way to find the Brooklyn Brewery but it was closed! It didn't look like it would be open for a while. It also didn't look that big. The surrounding area was quite dodgy too (we were approached by drunks asking for money). Wouldn't go back.

This brewery tour was fun and interesting, and the beer is delicious; I am definitely a convert.
The staff are very friendly and entertaining, telling great tales about the history of each beer and of the brewery.
The one thing that I didn't figure out until I arrived is that there isn't a bar to sit in while you wait...

We left around 5 and the place was packed and I mean packed. There was a waiting line outside of about 75 people waiting to get...

We intended going to the brewery on our first visit in August last year but Hurricane Irene stopped that, this time we were determined to go there. We went on the Sunday and arrived early. The welcome from the staff in the little souvenir shop was brilliant in particular MONSTER the cat who must be the best meeter and greeter...
