On a recent trip to New York we stayed in Brooklyn and wanted to get some iconic photos without the enormous expense of a helicopter ride. The easy answer is to visit the Brooklyn Esplanade boardwalk which runs the river side of Brooklyn Heights. Easily accessible from the streets and with the Clark Street subway station just a stone's throw... More

During the day it is a beautiful view of Manhattan but in the evening the views of Manhattan & the Brooklyn Bridge are breathtaking and worth the trip.

When it comes to views of Manhattan, you'd be hard pressed to find one better than what the Brooklyn Heights Promenade offers. For two years my boyfriend lived nearby, so I had the opportunity to spend a lot of time there and it was always a pleasure. A stroll through the beautiful, brownstone-lined streets of Brooklyn Heights leads you to... More

We ended our CityRover walk here with a wonderful view of the New York skyline. Well worth the trip across the Brooklyn Bridge. We caught the ferry back and watched the skyline twinkle as the lights came on.

A good place to come for Manhattan skyline views for free, especially if you're staying in Brooklyn and heading into Manhattan. Good places to eat nearby.

While staying in Manhattan, we made a half day of riding the subway to Brooklyn and then walking the promenade. We started on the south end and headed north, ending at Grimaldi's. We ended our time in Brooklyn with a walk across the bridge. Overall, it was probably close to 5 miles of walking.
