I have enjoyed a leisurely walk on the promenade on several occasions, then sat on a bench and enjoyed the view of boats on the water. I've also seen the July 4th fireworks from the promenade and what a treat that was.

You can come here solo, with your friend or girl-friend or may be as a newly-wed couple like most of them do it on the same day they get married. You can come here in a lot of ways and in a lot of moods. What you get at the end is the the most gloriously memorable moments that you... More

This well hidden section of Brooklyn offers, the best un paralleled view of the Manhattan skyline. It can be the best backdrop we have for pictures, and sight seeing. Even if you just want to pretend that you are Cher for one evening in Moonstruck, it is a must see. I give it four stars simply because it can be... More

This is the promenade by the river so offers stupendous views to the Manhattan skyline. During the day it is a great place for strolling or enjoying your lunch. Of special note is that on evenings when there are fireworks in NYC there is no better place from which to view them.

Walked it this morning and what fabulous views and how nice to be a the southern tip of the island. Even with the weather being a little chilly it was well worth the brisk walk from the hotel. Would love to come back in the spring. It's a fairly relaxed area and MUCH more quiet than up in the 30s... More

This is a great part of NYC. You get some really good views of Manhattan, Brooklyn Bridge and Governors Island. A peaceful part of the city where you can hear the birds singing. We did the free walking tour of Brooklyn Heights to make sure we saw all the best bits.

I've lived in Brooklyn for many years and the Promenade is a place I frequently visit. There's energy in the air from the many people that are always there as well as the automobile traffic passing by on the Brooklyn Queens Expresway. Yet, at the same time there is a serenity about the atmosphere that is soothing, as you pass... More

It is a very nice area, excellent view of Downtown Manhattan, and the bridges. Many great restaurants to choose from and a beach for tanning below the bqe.

This is a great area to take a short or long walk or just relax. There are benches to relax and the view of NYC is terrific. Its easy to get to by train. Dont know where the bathrooms are though and that may be a problem. So see if you can make a pit stop enroute to the promenade!!!... More
