It seems on the edge of taking off (or maybe the plane has already left!), with great little shops, cobblestoned streets, and of course, those lofts. I'd love to... More

DUMBO as you'll see it today barely existed 20 years ago. It was a very gritty industrial area with dirty streets and next to no amenities. Everything changed when the artists started to inhabit the old factory buildings. A handful of restaurants and stores opened, developers bought up all the buildings, and now it's one of the most expensive neighborhoods... More

If you walk across the Brooklyn Bridge you MUST go to the Dumbo area. Take time to meander the quiet streets and appreciate the architecture, the shops and the galleries. Spend time relaxing on the waterfront and riding the carousel. Eat at Grimaldi's or the River Cafe and have ice cream at the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory. Then walk back... More

We were a little disappointed on our recent visit to Dumbo, the potential is huge but we expected a soho type feel but the shops seem very scattered. Great photo opportunities though. More

GREAT VIEW of NYC! I liked it better years ago when it was more gritty but it's still a nice place to while away a Sunday afternoon on cobblestone streets.Foragers had great sandwiches. Carousel and ice cream are in glass building on riverfront, More

You feel safe in this neighborhood. Old NYC feeling with the brick roads and Bridges over head. Easy to access from several subway lines. Many nicer store and restaurants. More
