strange that dumbo kind of shuts down early. I really like the old world feel, its as if you were walking in narrow cobble streets in London, and then periodically you are confronted with elaborate glass monoliths. I just wish there were more bars and restaurants that seemed a little more down to earth or were open later. Love the... More

I have been recently early early morning, the silence and beauty feel like a world all my own. I came back with the hustle and bustle of afternoons and evening...and at midday and they were filming a TV episode, trucks and camera crews and lights, the area once again feeling new and different....... DUMBO is so vibrant and so alive.... More

This is an amazing place to see if you are visiting NY. Amazing views any time of the year which provide a stunning background for pictures. Children and adults can enjoy the beautiful carousel, can have pick nick on the grass and sit by the river. In the late spring through early fall and summer- "smorgasburg" offers amazing selection of... More

Small designer shops, plenty of cafes and great street art plus some very nice restaurant and of course wonderful views of Brooklyn Bridge. It is a nice place to wander around for an hour or two. Find all the street art around, they are indeed beautiful.

We caught the ferry which was very quick and cheap ($3 from memory) with very nice views. Once over there your really only need an hour or two but we stayed and had a couple of drinks... More

Dumbo has something for almost everyone. High class dining at the river cafe pizza from Julianna's ice cream on the docks and the art scene is crazy cool. Stop by superfine for a game of pool or check out what's happening under the archway (the piano, or arcade games) love it love the neighborhood pity everyone now knows! 😫😫😏😏☺️☺️

Start on Manhattan and walk the Brooklyn Bridge and give yourself 90 minutes to walk abound under the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges. Walk and enjoy the beautiful views with the bridges. Tons of specialty shops; ice cream, pizza, records store, chocolate, kids rides. Remember you get a better view of NYC from Brooklyn then in NYC. Take a stroll along... More

Dumbo is a very photogenic area with a couple of interesting shops/food joints but in my opinion it's mostly good for walking through it to the Brooklyn Bridge park!

If you live in NYC and don't know what to do, pity you. But it does happen. Wife and I spend about 150 days a year in a 1000 sq foot Manhattan apartment with many days "free". Her idea some time ago: pick a neighborhood in the five boroughs and take the subway or buses there and just aimlessly walk... More
