loved the area ....the trendyness....the mellow vibe. After a day in Manhattan I can understand why young New Yorkers gravitate here

We had read in the New York Times that this was a happening up and coming area and was a must do while in the city. Yes there are few shops and restaurants but I was disappointed. Well, now we're off to walk across the Brooklyn bridge.

This was a fun place to walk around. We went to the waterfront and watched the ships. Several new brides were there getting their pictures taken and there's a great little ice cream place there on the waterfront that is neat as well. This was a cool place to visit on our way to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge back... More

We spent a good 2 hours walking around Dumbo area at 6-8PM and had a hard time finding things. I'd recommend a map before you go.

We took a stroll here with a large group, sampled some ice cream at the base of the Brooklyn Bridge, then took in the carousel. It was a wonderful place, very historic, and great views of Manhattan while there. Great night spots there too but we stayed outside to enjoy the evening and the views.

Went there in September and lived it. Spent the day at the food market and at the street art exhibition. Very nice area and perfect as you can walk across the Brooklyn Bridge to and from Manhattan to get there. There's also a pier for the ferrys there.
