It is a great place to go for a walk, to look at the beautiful Brooklyn Bridge, the Manhatten Skyline, all the ships and all the other people there. Great hang out. Some day I'll find out if the pizza is good enough for that loooog line :-)

An industrial feel about it, lots of eateries and places to sit and watch people. We came back here twice!

Attended a wedding reception and walked around Dumbo in advance of the event. Hidden gem that was quaint, and friendly.

Dumbo is Brooklyn's most expensive neighborhood where prices rival those of Tribeca, a most coveted neighborhood in Lower Manhattan. There is so much to see and feel in Dumbo. We've lived in Manhattan for over twenty years. We've seen and experienced the good, the bad, and the ugly a major metropolis has to offer, but for us it was all... More

Went over to Brooklyn to walk back into Manhattan, which sounds odd but worth it. This area is a hidden gem. Most people were very friendly.

Lot's of construction and noise, but please look beyond that to its real Bohemian funkiness. More shops and more restaurants are opening each year. The waterfront is great around Fulton Landing and the Brooklyn Bridge Park, but it will be even better when the park's construction is finished. It's a nice destination at the end of your walk across the... More

While this area certainly will soar over the next few years, its not quite there yet. Very few bars and restaurants and none by the water. The areas by the water are lovely and offer great views of Manhattan and the bridges but still a lot of construction work and hard to get around without getting lost. Obviously its under... More

According to my guidebook, the area called DUMBO was wide and it suggested DUMBO is left side and below the Manhattan Bridge, but it was incorrect. The tourists should go to the left side of the Brooklyn Bridge, and the park on the left side of Manhattan bridge was covered with fences and nobody was there. If you are coming... More

This is such a great area to walk around. There are usually lots of people, so we feel safe, and you can't beat that city skyline, especially at night when it's all lit up.
