We took the east river ferry just for fun. The ferry ride was interesting and we had great view of Manhattan sky scarpers, Brooklyn Bridge, The ferry was very comfortable and we could take many pictures. The cost of the ferry was very reasonable and we enjoyed the nice breeze and the water. Take the ferry and enjoy the ride... More

This was one of the best bargains in NYC! $4 takes you on a very fast boat up the east river (under Booklyn, Manhattan, and Williamsburg bridges) from the southern tip of Manhattan to several stops in Brooklyn/Queens and back to midtown Manhattan near the UN building. There's even a free shuttle bus during rush hour taking you in a... More

Went to Brooklyn with the ferry and it was great, easy and fast, the only problem we had was that we didn't know that they only went one per hour and missed the first one with 10 min so had to wait for 50min.

Well, it was a good alternative going from Williamsburg to Manhattan, but it was nothing special. This is transport, not a guided tour.

we relied on the East River Ferry to take us over to Manhattan and it provided a reliable service. We also enjoyed the views from the ferry each time. The staff were cheerful and friendly.

It does not cost much, and on a niece day it is a great way to get across the river and to different spots in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

the East River Ferry is a fabulous way to see NY. we use it for simple transportation but it's also terrific for sightseeing. a $12 day pass gives you on/off privileges from East 34th to Long Island City, Williamsburg, Dumbo and Wall St. and the city is magnificent from the water. on weekends you can also go to Governor's Island... For something completely different, we decided to board the ferry to the financial district as we were heading to Wall Street and Fraunces Tavern. What a great buzz heading towards Manhattan Island with that amazing skyline!. Much better than the subway on a fine day

I took the East River Ferry several times during my stay in Williamsburg. I stayed at the Edge which was a few steps away from the dock. A schedule is posted in front for weekdays and weekends. You can also purchase your tickets in advance using their machines. They accept credit cards. Service is excellent, seldom delay arrival, almost always... More
