This is the place to be: Brooklyn Bridge Park. Among all the places I love the most, this is way my favourite one, no doubt about it. The green, the lawn, the old fashioned dismissed factories, the East River, the stunning Brooklyn Bridge, not to forget the Manhattan Bridge, and the amazing skyline of Downtown Manhattan make this place something... From the south end there is what appears to be a divine ice cream stand. There is also a toddler-oriented playground that would be difficult to get a child to leave. There are wonderful views of the Wall St. skyline. At the north end, there is a vintage carousel in a modern glass cube---just $2 a ride. I saw it... More

Great place to take children and dogs for a respite from the city. You can even cookout by the water, or play a game of football. There is a dog park and wonderful spaces for children to play.

Walked a ways through Brooklyn to the park- really pretty, great views of lower Manhattan, and the bridges. Plenty of space to spread out, walk, take photos. A few great little spots to have a beer or glass of wine or ice cream.

Very badly damaged by Sandy. Unfortunately the plantings from the Bridge south have been badly impacted by the salt water onslaught of Sandy. The north side with the seating area remains intact (it appears). This will turn out very well in the future and I'm sure lots of folks are looking forward to it. Walks from the Bridge south are... Went here with my husband to look up at the bridge and try get into Grimaldis (Best pizza in NY). Ended up being a lovely romantic walk along the waterfront and he go his best Manhatten photos from this place. The surrounding neighborhood was also a delight to walk through.

Strolled along here on a Sunday morning enjoying the sunshine and the views of Manhattan. Looks like a great place to have a picnic lunch - maybe the next time we are in Brooklyn.

We stumbled upon the park area when we were trying to find Brooklyn Heights! This was by far the best views we found of downtown Manhattan and the Brooklyn bridge too. The south end of the park seems to be going under some renovation, but it was ok to walk around still. I don't think we spent much more than... More

Back in the day, the only Brooklyn East River waterfront to be found was the Promendade but let the wealthy move in and the beautiful waterfront parks get built, expanded and the masses (me) get to enjoy their front yards. This park is a wonderful place to see the city, the Lower Bay, bridges and the remmants of the commercial... More
