You should no longer recommend Rick's A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. My son gave me & my sister a gift cert for his tour & I called and he is no longer in business. My son is out the $ now...bad businessman. What a bummer.

I have always wanted to visit Brooklyn having read and seen so much about it over the years and I am so glad we discovered Rick and his walking tour. Rick's passion and enthusiasm is infectious. He grew up in the area and can tell you some fascinating and hilarious stories of his younger years and what it was like... More

Rick was thoroughly entertaining, both for his local experience and knowledge of the neighborhood as well as his home grown personality. Every block he was saying hello to some guy on the street or busting the chops of an old friend who happened to be a Mets fan after the Mets lost in the subway series game. Rick is just... More

Hard to imagine a better way to spend 3 hours in NY. Rick is a knowledgeable and charming tour guide who knows his history and is very much part of the Brooklyn community he grew up in. Don't think 3 hours is too long it is an easy three hour stroll. Value is excellent too as Rick includes water and... More

I took this walking tour on Wednesday morning, 8/18/11. The tour guide, Rick Kadlub, was waiting at the prescribed place when I arrived 5 minutes early. He was standing on the corner talking to several men from the neighborhood. Rick is an absolutey fantastic guide for this tour. He has lived in the neighborhood for all of his 49 years... More

I'm an international student who is working in Mahattan this summer. During the exploration of New York culture, I always wonder what it looks like on the other side of the East River. The 4-hour walk guided by Rick revealed the beauty, history, diversity and vigor. He is a Brooklynpedia and can tell you all the background information with exact... More

If you want to get to know Brooklyn, the best way to do that is to listen to someone who has lived there all their life. My husband and I were visiting our daughter in Brooklyn on June 4 and she recommended a tour with Rick Kadlub. Rick was very knowledgeable of his city and was very entertaining as well... More
