It is fun to see the sideshows and play the various games along the front of the seashore. One can purchase a one-of-a-kind ices there. I believe it is open seasonally so check before going in the winter. Summertime is the best season to visit.

I would not go out of the way to see this place, unless you find the subject matter fascinating. It would be much more worthwhile if a freak show performance is scheduled for the museum, but unfortunately out timing did not permit this. They had one of those old-school peepshow contraptions that uses stop motion (where you put a penny... More

If you go to coneyisland you really have to go see sideshow or the burlesque shows. The side shows run every day and the burlesque shows are thurs and fri nights. There not really high end but the entertainment is top rate and really worth seeing if you go at night you'll have to deal with the hipsters but that's... More

What an amazing show! Have been there 3 times and it never gets old! Cast members are great entertainers and have true talent. Don't want to describe too much as the mystery is part of the excitement! The show is good for all ages even though tripadvisor.com only allows one choice out of 6.

Though Hurricane Sandy did a number on the building and exhibits, Coney Island Museum has persevered - I took a banner painting class there in the summer of 2013 and it was a life-changing experience! The sideshow was amazing, and I got to see a bit of the instruction in sword-swallowing etc. for those a bit braver than I was.

This show was the main reason for us to visit Coney Island, and it didn't let us down. We absolutely loved everything about this experience! The show was freaky enough for my friend to pass out during the first act, but good enough that she still wanted to stay:) Go on, you won't regret it!

I took my boyfriend to this sideshow in Coney Island and we both really enjoyed it. The show runs over and over, so it is possible that you will be seated somewhere in the middle of the show, but you can stay until you see the whole thing. The fire-breather aka "Insectavora" was the best! The people are also very,... More

Our family went to see the sideshow after a visit to the New York Aquarium. This is a fairly short show (30 minutes or so) that repeats itself throughout the day, so you will most likely come in while the show is in progress. Luckily, you can stay as long as needed to see the entire performance. I guess the... More
