Perhaps its the reality just does not live up to the memories. Maybe we just need to accept that some things are ephemeral.

Visited Coney Island because of The Cyclone and we found out that a walk on the boardwalk was something you can not miss. it is a bit sad that there was not any sit down restaurant there but otherwise it was ok.

Definitely worth it to buy the all day pass-check Groupon, sometimes they have deals. Fun afternoon. Do not try to eat in the ride area--if these people working here went any slower they'd be going backwards. Places on boardwalk are faster (though Nathan's on boardwalk was horrendous).

We took the subway from manhattan about 70 minutes but was well worth it. The beach was great and the amusement park was old time.. Free entry pay for the rides you wan to ride.. That was good as it enabled families to walk around the park for free and ride the rides they wanted too. They even had a... More

Here you see local people in a beach day, families, music, a roadwalk full of activities and diferent people to see. And you walk to Brighton Beach and in 15 minutes now you are in Russia

Mermaid Parade was the best. I have lived in NY all my life and have never gone to this event. It was over the top. You have to be ok with seeing men in crazy drag. Its so fun. Highly recommended

Coney Island is a Landmark location. Its currently in the process of rebuilding. Right now Coney Island is worth only visiting during the Summer. Nathans is not what you will expect. The Food there is overpriced at least 2-3x compared to any other Nathan's you visit. I'd visit as a photographer but not eat there. However if headed in that... More
