The Soaring Eagle is pretty fun you lay on your stomach as it takes you into the air and you actually do a few twirls and go through a couple ups and downs almost like an eagle. The Thunderbolt right is pretty cool especially when I go upside down a couple of times it's very fast. Another of my favorites... More

It reminds me of beach resorts in England. I visited in winter so everything was closed. Knowing this, I decided to look around as I was aware of all the movies that had been shot in the area. The boardwalk as well as the pier were highlights and photographing Luna park as a ghost town got some brilliant shots. Nathan's... More

Coney Island is one of the few places that you can still experience some of the grit and edge of New York that started to disappear in the 80’s. The place is growing out of the dirt and danger of that period much more slowly than the rest of the city has. Part of the reason is that there are... More

It has been 12 years since we were at Coney Island. It has changed. The crowds and laughter are gone. The stores are less friendly. The rides less amusing. But our old favorite has not changed. The boardwalk. ...and Nathans. The most delicious hot dogs and fries possibly in the world. One bite and I was transported to the happy... More

Coney Island is worth the effort to stop and enjoy the atmosphere. The beach is there, there are rides and food on the Boardwalk but pewople watching is the best. Parking is on site. Famous nathans is there as well as many other options. If you are into cycling the Tour de Brooklyn started there.

Doggone! That's exactly what happens after you have finished your last bite of Hot Dog at the world's temple of the hot dog, 'Nathan's' of Coney Island, directly across from the train station. If your feeling peckish, you can buy another at their smaller place right on the Boardwalk, and what a Boardwalk it is. This must have been the... More

After hurricane Sandy, Coney Island was renovated and is better than ever. The beach is clean and well kept and the rides for both children to adults are fabulous. Some of the old rides are there and many new ones which have attracted a lot of people. It is nice to see the original Nathan's back up and running and... More

vastly improved after Sandy! New attractions for those who like it and best of all: the Steeplechase Pier. Check the boardwalk bars and cafe's for a evening aperitif!
