In two years,Coney looks so different, lots of money been poured in following the damage caused by hurricane Sandy. Lots of completely new rides when you turn right on to the Boardwalk and Luna Park has been totally revamped. The Wonder Wheel and the Cyclone are now surrounded by things going up, down, round and sideways and even thru water!... More

Excellent beach and walkway. The funfair is small but has some excellent rides and very good value. Very good rides for young children and some for older ones too. Lots of hotdog places and drinks available. Worth a 1 hour ride from Harlem subway. A must if you are in NYC with kids and want to give them a break... More

The weather was great, so I thought a trip to the beach might be fun. Coney Island is at the end of several subway lines, making access from central Manhattan easy in around 40 minutes. Sadly, I went midweek after Labour Day, so the schools had resumed and the resort was largely closed. So unless you visit before Labour Day,... More

Cool place to hang during the day, but as you get farther down the boardwalk away from Nathans it gets seedier looking. Even during the day we eventually turned back. On the beach in the main area was nice. I wouldn't walk around here at night.

It is really true there is very nice beach but we probably picked the wrong date to go cause there were not many people around, everything was closed but from those present most of them were weird, even though it was not night. But beach is excellent.

Took the subway to the end of the line and found Coney Island. Renovated after Hurricane Sandy, the boardwalk and pier were nice and the huge flat beach was clean. Memories of riding the Cyclone as a child and the old Cracker Jack commercial brought a feeling of nostalgia to the visit. Unfortunately the attractions were closed on this day.... More

Luna park was actually closed when we visited but just being there and seeing the rides was awesome. Couldn't believe we were at a beautiful beach in the heart of NYC!

It's great to see that there are sill old school amusement parks out there and Coney island is at the top of the list. It's like stepping back in time when you walk around Coney Island, everything looks so cool and vintage and it's just a all around great place to spend the day or evening when the weathers nice.
