The boardwalk is great. The beach is huge and great too. A very nice beach for being in the largest city in the United States. On a nice day, it is packed and a great place to people watch. I don't think there is anything close to fine dining near Coney Island, but Nathans Hot Dogs is. There are lots... More

It is nice that you can get to Ciney Island easily by car or subway BUT the beach is always filled with obnoxious teenagers/20's and the beach is always dirty. The boardwalk is nice for kids to walk on and there are a lot of clean public restrooms Most of the restaurants do not serve healthy food and are overpriced!

At least for Europeans, a different experience with a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Be there before 9pm to see the fireworks!

With the snow, we took the long subway immediately across from Nathan's Famous hot dog restaurant and just a block away from the Coney Island broad boardwalk along the beach. Amusement area is pretty much closed during winter, but it was pretty and worthy of some photos in the snow and seeing of the amusement area famed in history even... More

We have family tradition of spending the 4th of July at Coney Island. It's fun rain or shine. So much to do. We enjoy every minute

As soon as you get off the tube, you know you're near a typical beach with rides, fast-food chains and long stretches of busy beaches. But, as Coney Island has been recently re-vamped, it is surprisingly nice. When we visited it (twice) it was pleasantly busy, and the long stretch of pavement (?) was full of people buying food and... More
