We went with our kids in August and it was fun to see and say we've been there. The ocean was freezing (in August) and the beach and coastline was dirty with lots of trash (my daughter found a feminine product). Boardwalk is nice but unfortunately it started to rain so we didn't get to enjoy the amusement park and... More

We took a trip to Coney Island on New Year's Day and was so glad ad we did . Although all the fairground attractions were shut due it being off season, we had the privilege of watching the annual charity dip! Thumbs up to all those brave dippers who braced themselves in the sub zero temperatures for a good cause.... More

We took a trip here and spent about an hour or two in the area during the off season when the park wasn't going. We walked the boardwalk which was nice as well as ate hotdogs from Nathans. Would love to come back here during the summer and see this place hopping

Well we decided to visit Coney Island last year when we had family visiting from out of the country. The neighborhood is not the best, but not really dangerous just kind of ran down. If you are going with a group of kids just be prepared to spend some coin. Everything is way overpriced, including the famous hot dog stand.... More

The place has some old world charm to it. The subway station has maintained its original character since the time it was put into service about a century ago. This kind of set my tone for the trip to Coney island. The wooden roller-coaster, streets that are out of movie from a bygone era, it was very nice to experience... More

We live about a half hour away and go here as soon as it opens and visit a number of times each year. Our daughter is now 7 and is in love with thrills - she tackled the newly opened Thunderbolt already and that crazy ricochet thing that boomerangs up and down. But what you really may want to know... We decided to go to Coney Island even though it was out of season and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. All the rides and most food places etc were closed, which was great. That meant it was fairly quiet for a wander along the beach and the pier. We visited on a glorious... More

We were visiting New York City over New Years Eve and decided at the last minute to go to Coney Island for their inaugural New Years Eve celebration. Being on the boardwalk, watching the countdown and the fireworks was a pleasant way to spend New Years Eve. Going forward I hope they amp up the music, countdown and possibly add... More

I've lived in Brooklyn for most of my life so my review may come off as bias but hey, like the title reads "Coney Island - the place for Memories". Its not Disneyland or Six Flags but its most definitely the place to go for the best hot dog ever (Nathans), the best candy apple (Williams Candy Shoppe) and the... More
