Maybe it is because I am only fifteen years old, but I love Coney Island with a passion. I been going there since I was a little kid; only started riding the rides in the past few years, and it is a wonderful place to have fun. I went on my first date there last year, very romantic. Aside from... more

WARNING!!!!! Be careful if you go to coney island in New York. There is a booth where a conartist works and rips you off a lot of money. My son played darts which he said was $2,00 a dart and paid him $10.00. At the end he ripped him off for $50.00. $10.00 a dart and on top of that... more

This place is so ghetto and trashy. I don't know why it's still around. The people are very rude and inconsiderate. The workers at the game Botha are a bunch of con artists and thieves. We had to give the guy $50 for a couple of darts!! This place is a rip off. I would not recomend you go here.... more

A 45min metro journey from the heart of NYC, Coney provides a great day out. A 5 min walk from the subway station to the boardwalk, beach, aquarium (avoid the animals are crammed into tiny spaces  ) and the amusement park. Lots of food vendors and beach gift shops. Really great setting. The old fashioned amusement park, the ocean... more

We took the subway from Grand Central, it was a lot farther than we thought but it really is a site to see. You walk out of the subway station and you see a big park walk further in and you see the ocean/beach with a long boardwalk with tons of food vendors, drink vendors, shops. It is a cool... more

We have been to Coney Island many times in the past 8 years, and again this May. Yes, there is work going on around the amusements area (good news really) but all of the amusements seemed to be running normally to me inc. The Cyclone, Wonder Wheel, Spookaram etc. It was memorial weekend and it was really buzzing there, tourists... more

We came out to Coney Island to go to the Aquarium. I was shicked that the beach was practically empty on a 80 degree day. Even if the legendary amusmenet park is a bust, It is the Ocean people!! 45 MINUTES OUTSIDE THE GRITTY CITY We cant believe some developer doesnt snatch up all of these dilapidated building and make... more

We visited Coney Island 2 years ago and it was a great day out. We were staying in Times Square and it only took a half hour train ride that cost $11 at the time to get there. The station is only a short walk away from the boardwalk, although try not to be too intimidated by some of the... more

We were in the city over the weekend and decided to do something different and head on out to Coney Island for the day. We did not know until a few days before our trip that April 5th was the opening day for the Cyclone and that the amusement park was opening that weekend too. We took the drive from... more

The world famous Coney Island sits on the southernmost point of Brooklyn (tecnhically the westernmost of barrier islands off Long Island, about four miles long and one-half mile wide), dotted with remnants of former fun and frivolity, Russian sunbathers and tourists walking a boardwalk in deep need of repair. But don’t get me wrong, while Atlantic City may be more... more
