Description: Friendly huskies year round! Join us this summer for our Summer Sled Dog...
Friendly huskies year round! Join us this summer for our Summer Sled Dog Adventure! Aurora viewing September through April. Sirius Sled Dogs is located near the top Of Murphy Dome about 25 miles northwest of Fairbanks. It's a beautiful scenic drive culminating in what we believe to be the best of Alaska. Discover off the grid living at our cabin on Lincoln Ridge. An expansive view of Denali and the Alaska range are visible to the south. Murphy Dome is visible to the north where the Aurora often rises as each night falls in winter.

One of the few places that gives sled dog rides in the early morning during summer. A little ways outside of town but worth it. We saw a mamma moose with her two babies and several other wildlife on the way there. Anita was great and very knowledgable about the sled dogs and everything mushing. We had a great time... More

Traveling solo I booked a full-day mushing school online. Anita (a co-owner) was very good about email correspondence. I felt welcome even before I arrived. The day was unusually warm (low 40's) with nothing but sun. The headquarters is Anita's "dry" cabin complete with an outdoor potty. You get an introduction, proper winter wear from her loaner selection & meet... More

I have a Malamute/Husky mix, and I absolutely love these dogs! Every single one of them was well mannered, beautiful and loved getting attention. Its obvious that Nita, the owner of Sirius Sled Dogs, takes amazing care of them. Nita's house is located in a gorgeous area, with a priceless view. The minute I sat down, I had three doggies... Our family met Nita and her dogs for the mushing school, kennel tour, and sled ride, and it was an experience we will always cherish! Nita was engaging, knowledgeable, and fun and taught us so much about sled dogs and dog teams. Her dogs were friendly, funny, and beautiful, and we really enjoyed getting to spend the morning with them.... More

I cannot explain what a magical night we had with Nita and her team. She welcomed us into her home and made us feel like family. The night could have turned out very differently given the van that was supposed to bring us from the hotel not only got lost...but stuck on a back road without cell service. Luckily, we... More

We did the sledding & kennel tour and absolutely loved it. They have a beautiful piece of land, an incredible view and incredible dogs too. We felt that they just welcomed friends right into their home and treated us as such, not like we were customers. The entire staff, including the dogs were just amazing and really made it a... More

This was our favorite activity in Fairbanks. We took the Mushing School, so we met the huskies, helped get them harnessed (well I tried), went out for a demo ride, and then got to "drive" the team ourselves. Afterward we helped take off the harnesses and give the dogs their "cookies". Really, other than staying on the sled (which is... More

Title says it all. My review is long overdue- I took the dog sledding tour + aurora borealis viewing back in September. Do you like your mind being blown? Because that's what will happen. Nita and Josh were absolutely AMAZING hosts. I can't stress this enough. You can tell they treat their pups super well. They let us meet all... More

Sirius Sled Dog Tours was recommended to us by someone we met in our hotel. We called Nita and she was gracious enough to accommodate our group of 9 people on a few days notice. She arranged for a shuttle van to pick us up and transfer us to her place. Long story short...the van got stuck in a snowbank,... More

My wife and I went on their dog sledding/aurora viewing package. First off, they were VERY accommodating when our original tour had to be scrapped because our flight had been canceled. When we met them, they were great hosts. We got to spend time hanging out with them and their dogs, we took a fun run through the woods at... More
