The staff was friendly and they have a nice tourist package that includes a hat, ball with logo, certificate stating you've played there, etc. Course was in DECENT shape considering the amount of rain. Be prepared for plenty of mosquitos. Recommend playing with brightly colored balls since the fairways are littered with white mushrooms. I lost about 8 balls in... More

I've played this course a few times while on vacation and love it! It is more like the rough courses you would find in Scotland, not the manicured, country club style found in the lower 48. Permafrost makes for some interesting plays. Staff was friendly and helpful. Tee times can usually be made for the same day IF it is... More

Wanted to play at the northern most course in the USA, check... Wouldn't go back. Lost balls in the fairway, greens looked and putted like 70's shag carpet. The only positive, it was very scenic.

We were happy that we golfed at North Star however, with the permafrost foundation, the golfing is unusual. The fairways are rough. They rent clubs and we reserved a tee time w/clubs ahead of time but when we arrived, they didn't have a set of mens clubs assembled. They scrambled and put one together but the driver was bent. The... More

The North Star Golf Club is located outside of Fairbanks in the wilderness of Alaska (moose sightings are apparently frequent). It is touted as the northernmost USGA golf course in the country. The Visitor's Package ($89) is a fantastic deal - 18 holes with cart, club rentals (I got Pings), all the balls and tees you need, plus a souvenir... More

North Star Golf Club is located roughly 5 miles outside the city of Fairbanks. It is a standard par 72, 18 hole track that sits on a high plain above the Chena Valley and overlooks the city of Fairbanks, AK. North Star's claim to fame it that it is the Northernmost USGA-sanctioned golf course in the United States. I was... More

Nice folks, mellow marshall..no pressure. The course is what a course in Alaska should be. Away from town, experience Alaska Nature.

A friend of mine and me played the course in early September while we were in town ahead of our cruise package. While we are pretty spoiled in Ohio by great golf courses, I have to say this was a great experience. It was amazing to us that you could play golf this far north! The greens are pretty long,... Would be a fun course if the staff and owners weren't so rude and disgusting. I skipped one hole because the group ahead was so painfully slow. After #18 I went back to complete the skipped hole. The manager chased me down and accused me of ripping off the golf course. When I humbly apologized for not checking into the... More
