We took a 7 hour tour of the Chena Hot Springs through 1st Alaska School and were very happy with the experience. Our tour guide Sam was very knowledgeable, friendly and very accommodating. The Hot Springs were really good as was the ice museum and geothermal tours. Overall a very pleasing experience for us!

We did the arctic circle tour with 4 others ( 6 total ) with Ken as our driver. Ken gave us a lot of extra commentary & a few jokes, he is a asset to the company. The tour was a long day on a bumpy road with many scenic & informative stops, for this length of tour the price... More

We went to Fairbanks in March in search of the Northern lights. We arrived on March 20-were pretty tired and went to bed- and lo and behold best night for it! But we had booked the Chena tour and the next night the Lodge tour to try and see the lights. The Chena tour was very good- Sam, the guide,... More

My husband, son and I took the Arctic Ocean/Prudhoe Bay 3 day tour. It was a wonderful experience! We traveled in a large van with our driver/guide Joseph and one other tourist. Joseph was very informative, knowledgeable, and friendly. He planned frequent stops to stretch our legs and view the amazing scenery. We stopped at the pipeline, the Yukon River,... More

I went to Fairbanks in March 2014 and booked the tour to Chena hot spring resort. It was an excellent tour. Lindsey was our tour guide. She was a very careful driver (driving in March could be tricky in Fairbanks!) and a very thoughtful guide. She stopped the van for us when we saw a moose; she was very patient... More

I booked this trip based on reviews from Trip Advisor--and I wasn't disappointed. What a fantastic experience from beginning to end. We were picked up at our hotel in Fairbanks by Mike, who made the day-long trip a fantastic experience! He regaled us with personal stories of his many adventures as well as information about what we were seeing. There... More

If you want a tour that is not crowded, not elbow to elbow, this is it. Mike, our driver, was well spoken, informative, humorous, and all-around great. I recommend this company for any of your destinations. We would use this company again without any qualms and urge you to choose for your tours.

We were driven to the Arctic Circle by Mike, a thru hiker on the Appalachian trail, a former river guide and a great tour host. He regaled us with stories from the Dalton highway and his hiking adventures. It made what was a very long van ride seem shorter and more enjoyable. His descriptions of the people and places along... There are several companies offering driving tours to the Arctic Circle. After much research I chose to go with 1st Alaska Outdoor School for several reasons. First, they picked me up at my hotel so I didn't have to drive anywhere. Second, they stopped at the Hilltop Truckstop for breakfast and the Yukon River Camp for dinner so each of... More
