We did the mushing school with Leslie and her skilled team and loved every minute of it. Leslie covered the basics of dog sledding and let us participate in each step of the way (harnessing & hooking the dogs up to the line, etc.). The dogs are clearly well cared for and got so excited when we hooked them up... More

A great time from start to finish. We did the 3 hour mushing school and it was unforgettable. Kevin was a great teacher and patient and Leslie's husband took pictures of us from various locations while we rode on the trail. Definitely a must do if you are in the area :)

We did the 1 hour mushing taster and wish to come back in the future to do one of the overnight experiences. Fantastic fun and experience and you might even get a short try of controlling the sled ( although I thought the dogs were really in charge of me) Clearly they are very passionate about the dogs and we... My husband and I visited the day before Thanksgiving. It was the day after the first snowfall of the season so it was the first time that the dogs had actually pulled a sled on snow since last spring. We each got a half hour ride and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our guide had great information and we learned a... More

Five of us went Dog Sledding with Paws for Adventure over the Thanksgiving break and it was probable on of the best experiences I've had in Alaska. The mushers knew so much about each dog and were excellent hosts. Between rides we were allowed to interact with each dog and see their individual personalities, even play with their puppies. This... We took our two boys aged 4 and 6 to paws for adventure for a dog sled tide. There wasn't much snow so the dogs pulled a 4 wheeler instead. That did not detract in any way from the fun the boys had. They got to cuddle 5 week old puppies as well as meeting quite a few of the... More

Five of us from Washington, DC did an overnight mushing trip along the Tanana River back in February with Leslie and her Paws Team. It was a lifetime experience, and something I'd do again in a heartbeat if/when I'm back in Fairbanks. Some thoughts a few months later: Mid-February (President's Day Weekend) was still a little early in the season,... More

And survived it most skillfully! You guys were awesome, an easy crew to share the trail with even when Mother Nature throws us a curve ball. Looking forward to sharing another mushing adventure. Happy Calm and Sunny Trails! -Leslie and Dave More

We took the five day overnight mushing trip to the historic Tolovana lodge through the endless Alaskan wilderness along the old mail, trappers' and miners' trails. It was exciting, beautiful, and we had a wonderful time. The arctic tents we stayed in two nights were roomy, comfortable and warm with the stove inside. We stayed in the rustic Tolovana lodge... This was our first to trip to Alaska and my girlfriend is an off-the-chart dog lover. Mushing in Alaska has been her #1 Bucket List item for many years and Paws for Adventure more than lived up to her dream. We were met by Leslie and a few of her friendly assistants. Neither of us knew what to expect but... More

Thanks for posting about your Mushing School adventure as it is one of our favorites and where Paws For Adventure started in 1998 (our 'Signature Tour'). We take great care to make it fun, educational and safe. Many years of personal experience come with our tours at Paws - not just our own personal experiences in dogsledding, or our ability... More

There are several places where you can schedule a dog sled ride in this area..... I strongly suggest you try this one first! We were directed here by Taste of Alaska Lodge owner/operator Kory. Sooooo very thankful!!! We were treated to a one hour ride through some of the most breath taking scenery! Kevin, the musher who took us out,... More
