Nice for a stroll

Interesting little shops line the street, the people seemed very friendly. One of the shoppe employees warned us that the parking police are very vigilant.

If you're traveling on I-95, take a quick side trip downtown and enjoy some great food and see the river.

I cannot think of anything more absurd than to drive through and not stop at towns along your way. The taste, flavors, auras, and scenes of each area are worth the time and maybe trouble to see. When we to through Fredericksburg on our way to our properties elsewhere, we must stop here and take in another sight, even spend... More

Took a trip to Fredericksburg to a motorcycle groups annual gathering. I realized I did not have any cigars so pulled out my phone and found a shop called Olde Smoke shop on Caroline St. Which is obviously part of Old Town with the small doorways and tight quarters but was welcomed by Mark as soon as I poked in... Went here last weekend to do a bit of sight seeing. So many little specialty shops, restaurants, ice cream, antiques and everything looks of the Civil War period. Town did a nice job in keeping things looking clean and historic. Plenty of museums to visit. Right next to the picturesque Rappahanock River where there are plenty of outfitters to rent... More

We're from Northern Virginia, and Fredericksburg is obviously to the south of the line that separates suburban Northern Virginia from The South. But that's a good thing. . .the antique stores and honest-to-gosh brick and mortar book stores are a trip. if you are looking for the transformer car for your Lionel train set, you can find it here. Looking... More

well done and preserved for the next generations to see and enjoy. Guides in period costume explain what you are seeing and make history come alive.

This riverfront town is much as it was during the Colonial and Civil War periods. Church steeples seen in Civil War photos are still there, as is most of the historic downtown. The downtown is full of small shops and restaurants, as well as some private residences. Ample parking is available in the new multi-story parking garage, located within easy... More

This is a lovely spot to enjoy any time of year! The flowers are lovely in spring and summer, leaves are nice in fall, and it's even lovely in the snow! The Old Town was very important in its day, so be sure to stop in at museums and enjoy the trolley route!
