We love to be able to roam Old Towns, look at the homes that are from the war periods and visit the attractions and such. The Historic Old Town has a fair amount to see. Caroline Street is the main street and has many antique shops, small eateries and some attractions as well. One nice thing that amazed me was... More

A quaint peaceful place to visit. Start with the Trolley Tour which shows you all the main attractions and with a knowledgeable and humerous guide is an hour well spent. Then tou can wander around at your own pace either on foot or by car, but watch the one way system. Some of the attrctions charge an entrance fee but... More

Nice place to walk around, browse the shops and grab something to eat. A lot of historic architecture to look at. More antique shops and malls than you can count. Many nice shops and restaurants. Worth spending a relaxed day browsing.

While visiting some Civil War battle areas, we spent 2 nights in Old Town Fredericksburg. This is a very people friendly area to walk and see the stores to shop and many places to eat. Really something for everyone. The entire time we were there, we felt super safe because there was always somebody out and about. There never was... More

My friend and I spent a few hours walking through the heart of Old Town. Quite a few nice shops to browse around. The business owners are friendly. Nice residential homes intermixed between the shops. Easy parking along any of the parallel streets. A nice way to spend a lazy afternoon.

Go downtown and walk the historic section. There are many buildings, churches, cemeteries and landmarks to visit. This is a must do item on any trip to this area.

Great for walking the old streets, seeing old buildings, liked the quaint stores and shops. Did not dislike anything.

Parking was fine; even a few spaces on the streets, but limited to 2 hours except Sunday. Similar in character to Alexandria outside DC, but much less commercial. Several buildins well worth spending time visiting, specialised local shops, a pleasant walk on several streets, including residential areas between sights. The kind of town that would be attractive as a home,... More

Quaint and small. It seemed most stores were closed by 4 or 5 o'clock, one place that is a must visit for book lovers is Riverby Books. Fantastic used book store.
