I walk in Old Town quite frequently and love this city. There are too many restaurants and shops to name as well as some really interesting historical stops. Food E is a must stop place to eat. Carl's is a must for ice cream. Caroline Street is filled with neat little antique shops. River Bend books is a great place... More

A tranquil town with a range of antique and tourist shops but nothing outstanding or unique. Parking was easy enough as was signposting. A little further along go to the park for great views of the river and the Chatham Bridge

There is so much history in this city. You'll need 2-3 days to see everything. Walking tours available are quite informative. The churches, buildings and river offer a look into the past. There are a lot of restaurants to choose from. The town is quaint and charming. Would visit again.

The architecture is wonderful, and there are dozens of interesting shops and restaurants, if you are into that. We enjoyed just walking and taking pictures.

Walked around here on a Sunday evening. Almost everything was closed, however it was enjoyable seeing this old town.

We walked through the old town in the early evening from the river & up. Had a lovely meal than walked along Caroline st where there was a group of musicians playing with a crowd gathering around. Young & old everyone was enjoying the ambience. Excellent evening

Had a lovely time walking through Old Town looking at the architecture, shopping, and enjoying drinks and appetizers. If you are a book lover, be sure to visit Riverby Books. You'll love it. People who enjoy antiques shopping will also have plenty to do.

Old Town is worth the visit. We spent most of one day there this past week. There are a wide variety of shops and places to eat. Make sure you stop in the visitor center where you can purchase a trolley ticket ride. In 75 minutes you learn all about the history of Fredericksburg. My daughter learned more in that... More

If you are visiting Fredericksburg, it is well worth a visit to the old town, to explore the antique shops and tour around the battlefields and the visitor centre. The visitor centre offers a good audio visual experience and information about the Civil War and Fredericksburg's part in this.

There seems to be something for everyone from tons of fabulous restaurants to boutiques and antique stores. It is pedestrian and kid-friendly and I love that there are park areas close to the river.
