These are unique and offer a myriad of items from clothing to antiques...and ice cream :-)..the trolley tour gives you the highlights of the shopping area..and it is easily reached on foot.

My friend and I spent a few hours walking through the heart of Old Town. Quite a few nice shops to browse around. The business owners are friendly. Nice residential homes intermixed between the shops. Easy parking along any of the parallel streets. A nice way to spend a lazy afternoon.

Go downtown and walk the historic section. There are many buildings, churches, cemeteries and landmarks to visit. This is a must do item on any trip to this area.

Great for walking the old streets, seeing old buildings, liked the quaint stores and shops. Did not dislike anything.

Parking was fine; even a few spaces on the streets, but limited to 2 hours except Sunday. Similar in character to Alexandria outside DC, but much less commercial. Several buildins well worth spending time visiting, specialised local shops, a pleasant walk on several streets, including residential areas between sights. The kind of town that would be attractive as a home,... More

Quaint and small. It seemed most stores were closed by 4 or 5 o'clock, one place that is a must visit for book lovers is Riverby Books. Fantastic used book store.

After spending a good portion of the morning visiting the nearby Civil War battlefields, our teenage daughters were ready for a little shopping, so we enjoyed a stroll here in Old Town, visiting several antique and gift shops, and enjoying a coffee break at Hyperion Espresso and lunch at Vivify Burger (rooftop dining). Their favorite shop was Dog Krazy where... More

We came to Old Town mostly to see the antique shoppes. We were disappointed till we found the Fredericksburg Antique mall. There was a variety of items that were reasonably priced that came home with me. I would also recommend The Cat Closet if you are a cat lover. We did not eat here but there were many places available... More

Sights you can see. 1. The battle of Fredericksburg. Stop at the battlefield visitor center and pick up the Auto Tour. Best way to see all the sites and stories that go with it. With stops at Chatham Manor, Kenmore Plantation, Mary Ball Washingtons final resting place. Many more 2. Ferry Farm. Childhood home of George Washington. 3. Union and... More

Old town is loaded with great places to shop and eat and search for antiques. The history is fantastic. Many beautiful churches and historic landmarks to visit. Shaded streets add to the charm.
