In Brookline's Coolidge Corner we have a unique venue for films that are quirky, odd, but usually well worth the admission. There are no cookie-cutter Hollywood blockbusters here. I think there are four halls, the main one seats maybe a thousand, the one that shows the films I usually see seats about 45, and there is one really small room... More

What's better than watching new and classic movies at a price lower than regular theaters? Watching one while drinking a draft beer! Go get pizza across the street at Otto's, then enjoy supporting the local arts and a great flick.

One of the few independent movie houses left in the Boston area. I've gone there not only for indie and foreign films, but also for opera.

This is a great local public theater, harkening back to the old days of art-deco theaters but with some nice modern touches (yes, you can buy wine!) too. And the selection of first-run and classic movies is often great. There are other events too-- Opera, Shakespeare, etc.-- on the big screen...... lots of fun and great variety. You should always... I am sure a thousand other reviews will say this: the choice of films to show (from new independent and international releases to classic and cult shows that are just begging for a big screen, to even live broadcasts of performances from the the National Theater in London!) is only equalled by the fabulous original decoration of the interior of... Everyone in the Boston area who loves classic movies (domestic and foreign) or wonderful indies that get terrific critical acclaim but not much popular exposure, knows (or certainly should know) about this exquisite non-profit cinema, housed in a beautiful building whose interior evokes the magnificent mock-Classical Greek Art Deco friezes of NYC's Rockefeller Center. Right in the heart of Brookline's... More

This is a theater not owned by a chain, essentially a nonprofit, yet maintains a truly classic theater environment with a great lineup of current indie/art house films as well as midnight runs and evening showings of everything from cult classics to just plain classics. They also serve beer, and you really can't go wrong with that. My favorite theater... More

First experience at CCT and I loved it! This place has a lot of character. Love the interesting flicks they play and that there are no annoying pre-movie commercials or trailers. Apparently they sell beer and wine (I didn't notice because I didn't stop at the food counter), but I like that they offer free water. The theatre itself was... More

Coolidge Corner is one of my favorite theaters to go and see a movie. I love the choice of new and old classics films and there live events. I am a member of the Coolidge Corner theater.
