Open, well lit and full of people. Thats how it looks on a typical Friday night while the store is open (9:00 pm) and full of costumers, its just fun to be there. The store offers a great selection of fiction books along with other styles, cook books and gifts. Highly recommended when in Coolidge Corner.

I love Brookline Booksmith. Its such a joy to be there among all the books. Its organized without being sterile. Helpful staff. Lots of author readings, and a great selection of cards, gifts, and maps. Great for adults and children. A Brookline Gem.

Independent bookstore selling a wide array of books and magazines (great travel book section). They used to have way more books but in recent years have designated more space to trinkets and jewelry because people are buying books online. There are used books in the basement and they have a couple of tables filled with new bargain books on the... More

I love the Brookline Booksmith - one of the best things about living in Brookline. I can spend hours there, perusing their shelves. Also my go-to place for last minute gifts!

I fantasize about LIVING in the Brookline Booksmith bookstore. This is such a great place. And a number of nooks for inspecting a prospective purchase more closely. I visit frequently as well for cards & little funky gifts.

Went on a cloudy Sunday and the place was busy. Lots to choose from cooking to fiction to children's books. Even a travel section. Lots of unique gift ideas - mugs, cards, stationery, seasonal items and chocolates, etc. A fantastic used selection and bargain area. If you are in the area check it out there is something for everyone.

The kids loved this unique store. I have been to several other book stores, but this one has a special vibe to it. The kids loved it. We made sure to buy a couple books. How could we not :).

This is just a wonderful bookstore. Great resources and lots of assistance when you need it. Wonderful selection of just about anything - and they'll get you anything they don't have in stock with ease and promptness. Fun small gifts, too.

Worth spending money here to make sure this independent book seller has a long life ahead. Wide range of books, helpful staff, places to sit and browse, signed copies, staff picks, and array of other curious items/cards/calendars sold here all make it a worthwhile experience every time I visit. (for members of nonprofits such as the Coolidge Theatre as well... More
