Pretty great way to spend an afternoon - all sorts of wonderful cars and memorabilia. I particularly liked the oldest of the old cars they had in the kind of basement area. Any time they have a car show out front you should go!

Admittedly, I am not the world's biggest car buff, but thoght this museum was overrated. Interesting exhibits of cars indoors, but not enough of them to justify the $10 price per person. Showing clothes that a woman of the period might have worn next to many of the cars was interesting. On the lawn, there was a hige motorcycle rally.... More

The Lars Anderson Auto Museum describes itself as being the home to America's oldest car collection. There are any number of museums that are larger, but you would be hard pressed to find one with a better selection. Consider this a true gem worth visiting. Many visitors make this a destination, and it is easy to see why. The museum... More

I was very fortunate to coincide my visit with a lawn show of Italian cars. A veritable cornucopia of Lancias, Alfas, Fiats, Ferraris and Lamborghinis to add the the interesting contents of the museum. As an Englishman it was good to see the display around our UK motor industry at the end of WW2 and the Export or Die mentality.... More

This is a fabulous museum on an absolutely glorious estate, and it really comes alive during the summer for its numerous lawn events specializing in specific types of cars. Check out their web site, mot.org, for the dates of the lawn events. This is a great family venue. The membership is well worth the price, as it covers all the... More

This museum is very well kept up and sits on a huge park that has rolling hills, a pond,a skating rink in the fall, winter. The Lawn Events are mesmerizing as you wouldn't expect cars of such beauty to come rolling on in as they do! I recently attended the Cadillac Show ,and I'm still talking about it! There is so... If you are into car history - this is the place to go. Even better - for a femme fatal like myself (I like fashion) - the display we saw on the w/e which was all to do with British made cars during the war time - had not just the cars - but also the clothing worn at the... More

The auto museum is really nice, all kinds of old cars. It's an old mansion on beautiful grounds so it's great for a walk as well

I am not a car enthusiast, but I still enjoyed our visit to the Museum of Transportation. It's interesting to see how cars have changed since the early days. The Lars Anderson collection is simply amazing. I did think the admission fee was high, but we had a buy one get one free coupon from the Entertainment book, so it... More

This small auto museum is on the grounds of the Larz Anderson Estate. It gives one the sense of what life might have been like in the early 1900's. There are auto shows several times a year with various themes: Italian cars; antique autos, etc. Very manageable with children and the adjoining park with its playground is a treat too.
