We enjoyed an outdoor family BBQ but I would not suggest swimming in the lake as it just isn't clean. The park also has issues with illegal activities so keep a close eye on the kids.

Well-maintained, much quieter and less trafficked than the big Portland parks, lots of birds and wildlife. Nice black sand beach, picnic pavilions and a playground (restrooms as well, although we didn't visit them). There's a nice flat paved path that goes over to the Columbia River side - Frenchman's Bar Regional Park - that's perfect for walking or biking.

Went from Vancouver Lake Park to Fisherman's Bar for a walk. Plenty of birds to watch and views of mountains - Rainer, Adams, Hood and St Helens - assuming it's a clear day. Were pleasantly surprised the bathrooms were open on Jan 2nd. There were actually quite a few people walking and bike riding. If you are looking for a... More

Nice day use park. Several areas to host picnics and such. There are a couple large restroom facilities. Easy to launce a canoe from the shore. From the parking lot to the lake is only a 100 feet give or take a little.

We have been there a number of times. The park is wonderful and perfect in the summer., although you can go anytime! We spent the day there with a picnic lunch this summer. You can play in the water, play volleyball, they have playground equipment, restrooms although I am not sure if they are open all the time, grassy areas,... More

Fun place to visit at dusk, you can roam the river shore and the grass and watch the bats fly and swoop around. They seem so close at times you could reach up and touch one.

Need some down time with the family without breaking the bank? Get yourself some groceries and have a picnic. Nice views of the lake. You just might see a bunny or two. Bring a lawn chair, blanket, good book and sunscreen. Get some swimming in to cool off. Take 4th plain all the way out to Fruit Valley. Look for... More
