Vancouver Lake park is a nice park and a good attempt at saving a dieing lake. I happen to live on lake front propety and I have a wonderful vew. If you come to Vancouver Lake I recomend you come in the fall becuase the lake is often covered with a alge bloom in summer and is flooding in fall.... more

This now deing lake is a backwater and past chanel of the Wilamet river before the columbia changed its chanel. In the 1980's the comunity came together in an atempt to cleanup the Lake mostly with Federal funds. This effort was abandoned and the water quality has steadely spiralled downward making this one of the top most poluted lakes in... more
