Love having Christian Concerts in Rome

I went to a Christian concert here. It was great! It was so nice to hear top artists here in Rome. It is an older theater, but has a lot of character. I hope they have more.

The Capitol Theater in Rome has held a number of themed film festivals over the years including the annual much loved Capitolfest in early August every year. This festival appeals to early movie enthusiasts, meaning lovers of early sound films and of of silent films shown with musical accompaniment by the original 1928 house organ that comes up to stage... Half the seats in this place are ratty and literally falling apart. I also went home with flea bites all over my ankles and legs (probably thanks to the cat that they let roam all over the theatre.) I enjoyed the Art Deco architectural details, but I don't ever plan on going back.

If your ever in the area and want some great entertainment check out their schedule. There is always something for every one to see. Summer Stage puts on at least two great musicals with a full pit orchestra. There are traveling acts such as the Glen Miller Orchestra or the Air Force Band. And many other performers through out the... More

Capitolfest is held each August at this magnificent 1928 theatre. The selection of films is top-quality. The silent film presentations are enhanced by the magnificant Mohler organ, still in its original placement. Sound films are equally enjoyable in either rare 35mm or digital presentations. The theatre is beautifully restored and has excellent sight lines, as well as good air conditioning.... More

This was really cool if you are an old movie buff. Just to see the theater is impressive - and during the intermission between movies - an old organ located in the orchestra pit is raised and one of the volunteers actually plays it!! I loved this place - one word of warning (the seats are old and not nearly... More

Having always been a fan of this wonderful theater, I make a special effort to attend some of their silent and early sound film showings----especially CAPITOLFEST every August. Rare archival films , some of them never shown since their original releases, are all shown in 35 mm on the "big" screen. Any silent movies have live accompaniment on the restored... More

Thank you so much for your kind words! We hope to see you at this year's Capitolfest, August 8-10, where we will be featuring the films of William Powell, among other great silent and early talkie gems! More

I highly recommend stopping by the Capitol Theatre if you're in the area. In addition to the amazing Capitolfest film festival every August they also have other films and events throughout the year. Between the beautiful restoration work that has been done and the incredible 1928 Moller Organ there is a lot to see and hear.

I have been taking my children here since they were small - they love the black and white monster movies for the "Summer Drive-in" and the Halloween showings. We've done the tour as well as the Cartoon Madness We do the special events too. I usually go w/friends to the Summer Stage productions too. The Capital adds so much to... More

Love the historic Capitol Theatre....the olden day charm. I can see well, enjoy the shows that I have seen and enjoy an inexpensive treat. Great family experience for a great price!
