My best friend and I went to savannah for a week a few years ago. We found tybee island and so we spent a night there also. What is so funny about it is that at that time it was very, very small and nothing whatsoever to do but we still loved it. I was never able to figure it... more

Very nice and quiet beach. Not over crowded and very clean place to take family. For years I have been taking my family to Myrtle beach but not anymore. Tybee island is the place to be if you like quiet walks and actually hearing the ocean waters. Highly recommended place to go. more

Tybee is a great beach that is family friendly, beautiful, and laid back. If you are looking for a place to take a family vacation this is it. There is not a lot to see and do, just the beautiful ocean and miles of sand. more

Tybee is similar to the other Atlantic coast beaches I have been to. I've seen better sand, but no complaints about Tybee's. The parking setup is good, if not expensive ($1.50 per hour at pay and display stations, though on a busy day, you might want to bring a roll of quarters for meters). The body surfing and boogy boarding... more

Loved the scenery that the island possesses. We originally went to check out the Lighthouse and wanted to take photos of the sunset. However we arrived a little late and got lost. We did find the lighthouse but be careful opening your windows. The mosquitoes were as big as birds! Okay my wife says they weren't that big but they... more

We live close to Va Beach, which is a huge city that has a patch of sand. Unlike the Outer Banks, Va. Beach, and Key West, Tybee Beach is a vintage treasure. It is just like beaches used to be...sand, fun, and great restaurants. It has just enough shops and many rentals cottages from the 1940's -1970's. There are few... more

During our vacation we did a beach day at Tybee Island and we were certainly glad we did. The weather was perfect and the beach was excellent. My wife and young son had a fantastic time. There are some great local places to enjoy a good meal (Crab Shack) and it is definitely a great place to enjoy a day... more

This a great place for people with small children or for people who just want to relax. It isn't a party beach and thankfully so. My family and I had a wonderful time combing the beach, pier and shops from day to night. The Tybee Lighthouse was also very interesting and has a terrific view. The entire area is very... more

Several reviews talk about how there is little to do on Tybee, but I disagree. It all depends on what you are looking for. If you want a night life, flashy restaurants and bars, and amusement parks, go to Myrtle Beach. Myrtle Beach exists to trap tourists so people who need a vacation can go to Tybee. The island is... more

Some good things about Tybee Island is that is very laid back. Everyone was friendly. Its just a nice place to go if you just want to relax. Some not so good things that we experienced is that the hotels are not that great (small, expensive, chipped paint...etc). The water is kinda brown. There is not much to do on... more
