The Salt Table is an Unforgettable Tasting Experience Upon entering The Salt Table, you'll discover why Trip Advisor reviewers rank The Salt Table tops in Savannah Shopping. The aroma of the salts and seasonings will wake up your taste buds. You'll be encouraged to taste the salts and seasonings, and over 200 other flavors as well. Teas. Sugars. Oils. Vinegars. Popcorns. And, Vanillas. The Salt Table is not a franchise. It's is a unique, local brand of unique food enhancement products that are hand-blended and packaged right here in the Savannah area. You will taste the freshness. During your visit "Flavor Consultants" will provide suggestions for use, or you can explore at your own pace. The most common word heard as customers sample is "Wow." Black Truffle Salt or Ghost Pepper Salt are high on that list. "MMMMM", is uttered when one samples the Strawberry Peach Lemon Tea. Many of the dip blends are provided for sampling. Leak Dip and Loaded Baked Potato Dip are current favorites. Tuscan Bread Dipping blend and Garlic Butter when mixed with olive oil are, " just amazing." "In most stores, smell and tasting is limited to a few items, if any. Our customers are invited to test and enjoy just about everything. What a novel idea!" says Carol Legasse, co-founder. 'We make it easy by providing sampling stations throughout the store." Salt Table's Flavor Consultants roam the store, conducting impromptu "Salt Talks" and demonstrations of the very popular Himalayan Salt Plates. These make excellent cutting boards, or, when heated to 500 degrees, they're used as cooking surfaces. In addition to samples, cups of specially brewed iced tea and fresh gourmet popcorn by the bag are available on the spot. In the 'Georgia Room' - the new addition downstairs - The Salt Table offers highly awarded Georgia wines to sample or by the bottle as well as Georgia made products such as pecans, ginger products, rice and grits, honey, coffee, oils and balsamic vinegars. Hand crafted pottery made specifically for The Salt Table by local potters are on display. The new, wine tasting bar in the new lower level of the shop provides an excellent introduction of the fine dry red and white wines from North Georgia mountains as well as the sweet low country fruit wines. Local artists present their work for sale including pottery and framed photography with scenes of Savannah and the coastal area of Georgia. Savannah is known for its unique shops and boutiques, but a few stand out as a must do. The Salt Table in the historic district of Savannah is on the top of that list - a truly one-of-a-kind experience. You'll quickly understand why this shop has garnered so many 5-star reviews and accolades.

This is a specialty shop that focuses on salt, pepper and other seasonings, but also carries a variety of Georgia-made products, from peanut butter to tea to wine (they also have wine and tea tastings). It surprised me that I was the one to buy so much, not my wife. In the end, we purchased a variety of specialty salts,... More

We visited the Salt Table after finding a brochure at the airport. I love these types of stores. I was so impressed with the variety of spices, teas and trinkets...but I was beyond intrigued with Salt Block cooking. I decided to buy one and have it shipped home to Massachusetts. I bought the book written by Mark Bitterman and read... More

I guess it's cool... If you like to taste lots of different salts. It's a spice store... I love to eat, cook, and drink wine but after tasting two or three different salt whatevers I just wanted to leave. Licking salt is not my idea of a good time. The staff was super nice and all, i just don't see... More

Wow. How does one respond to being called "weird" for offering free samples? Spice and salt markets places have been providing samples for centuries. Actually, our customers do consider it "a big deal" to be given samples of hundreds of locally made, Georgia Grown food products. Readers of your review should know that sampling at the Salt Table include salts... More

I was honestly looking for a place like this to get fresh tea leaves. My husband is a huge spice fan, I found teas and so much more! The downstairs Georgia Room wine tasting is a nice touch. They do also ship and you can order online. Great stop in Savannah!

We saw an advertisement for The Salt Table and thought we'd check it out. WOW what an awesome find. Tons of salts and spices and the store is setup so that you can taste all of the items before you purchase. Thought we'd just buy some of the pink salt, but we ended up with a bag full of things.... Himalayan salt can curb your desire for salt. The store offers Himalayan salt cutting boards as well as a large collections of flavored salts. They have a wine tasting room in the basement that from what I remember is free. Stop in and good luck keeping yourself away.

Thanks Felicia for the great review. The Salt Table does indeed have lots of salt options, about 60 altogether ... international, smoked and infused. Our Himalayan Salt Plates have proven to be very popular. But, that's just part of the picture, we also produce our own brand of award winning seasoning blends with over 60 of them as well Our... First of all, and I just need to get this out of the way, it seems as if this place existed explicitly for my wife and me. You gotta love a place at which you can have a WINE tasting and a BARBECUE SAUCE tasting at the same counter! My wife and I were both happy campers. I wondered why... More
