Everything has been written, it seems. The area is beautiful . . . a wonderful walking venue . . . safe . . . friendly . . . dripping with history, signs informatively adding to self-guided tours, and blessed with a bounty of simple & grand (your choice!) restaurants. We'll anticipate other visits, whenever possible.

Plan for a few days and one day is not near enough! We enjoyed walking around and wished I could have taken a tour.

Really enjoyed the walking tour by "Tours by Locals" - Bonnie was great! We learned a lot about the city we would never have known.

Easy to walk or take a trolley to everything. Incredible architecture, ironworks, and history. Unfortunately the City of Savannah seems to have an agenda to omit any reference to slavery. I took 3 tours, slavery was never mentioned as being a part of Savannah's history, which it certainly was.

Savannah to me reminds me of the ideal community. One where few people rely on cars and most just walk down the street to the corner store greeting everyone they pass along the way. A town whose residents aren't afraid to lend a helping hand to a neighbor or a friend in need. That has been my impression each time... More

Plenty to do and see! We had a great time people watching, and exploring. Lots of interesting shops, restaurants, and history! Clown on the street. Riverboat tour. Local artists and vendors.

Historic Savannah is definitely worth a visit. Wear good walking shoes, take in the sites, eat well. Personally, I'll take Charleston any day over Savannah --- but definitely worth a visit.

There is so much to see in the historic area! You could spend all day here and still not see everything! Must see the Squares, as well as Forseyth Park. Such a dog, friendly area! It was great!

This place was so gorgeous and so much fun. I learned a lot about Savannah and it was nice just to walk through the district and admire the houses and churches through out the district,

The historic district is easy to explore on foot. The Visitor Centre offers a one day parking pass for seven dollars, or twelve dollars for two days. There are several parking lots and street parking available. There are also free buses and a free boat trip. All the squares are quite close together and the walking between them pleasant and...
