Pleasant evening stroll

Walked along the riverfront on a pleasant spring night, ended up in Ellis Square by the Marketplace. Enjoyed sitting on a bench and people watching for a while.

Because of the abundance of cheap tourist junk in the first building, we didn't even bother with the second building. We would prefer more local crafts. The center open air area for food looked empty and closed. Very sad.

We enjoy walking along, looking in the shops and eating along the waterfront. There is usually something going on- music, street booths, etc. The scenery is great for picture taking also.

Walked around down on the Riverfront before dinner. Bought a few gifts in the shops. Enjoyed listening to music and people watching. Watched a huge cargo ship come into port.

This place had it all. We fixed all of our buzzes right here. We had our romantic stroll along the waterfront, got a bit of history along the way (war memorial and waving girl statue), we stopped at the shops and market, and even though we were not hungry, we surely were not in short supply of nice places to... There was always something to catch your attention, whether it was the beautiful river with the bridge, the ships, statue of the waving girl, sidewalks made of rocks, shells and uneven stairs. Even the people you encounter are a sight, with so many skilled artists in painting, weaving baskets or making flowers out of palm leaves. Also a lot of... More

We visited Savannah during the "off season" in December, but everything was open and there were lots of people along the riverfront and plaza. We had to step off the sidewalk often to make our way as they are narrow and crowed in places. This was not a hardship though as most of the traffic is streetcars, trolleys, etc. There... More

The riverfront parks in cities closer to me have nothing on Savannah's! Loved all the statues and monuments. And the historic/informative signs that told about the river, the street, the buildings, etc. Plenty of places to sit and relax. Even a couple of spots for kids to play. Absolutely a ton of "Kodak Moment" spots. More parking would be nice,... More

The walk along the river is beautiful at night, sadly we were only here one night and had no time to enjoy the area during the day. However at night it is really full of life with tourists and locals mingling to enjoy the fresh evening air. There are plenty of eateries and bars to keep you busy, and many... More

I love walking through the riverfront. At night you'll hear musicians playing. Every time we visit its a new experience. It's really nice through the week and during the off season when the crowds are down. Great place to sit on the river and people watch. Plenty to eat and drink at local places. I don't suggest driving down to... More
