We visited Savannah during the "off season" in December, but everything was open and there were lots of people along the riverfront and plaza. We had to step off the sidewalk often to make our way as they are narrow and crowed in places. This was not a hardship though as most of the traffic is streetcars, trolleys, etc. There... More

The riverfront parks in cities closer to me have nothing on Savannah's! Loved all the statues and monuments. And the historic/informative signs that told about the river, the street, the buildings, etc. Plenty of places to sit and relax. Even a couple of spots for kids to play. Absolutely a ton of "Kodak Moment" spots. More parking would be nice,... More

The walk along the river is beautiful at night, sadly we were only here one night and had no time to enjoy the area during the day. However at night it is really full of life with tourists and locals mingling to enjoy the fresh evening air. There are plenty of eateries and bars to keep you busy, and many... More

I love walking through the riverfront. At night you'll hear musicians playing. Every time we visit its a new experience. It's really nice through the week and during the off season when the crowds are down. Great place to sit on the river and people watch. Plenty to eat and drink at local places. I don't suggest driving down to... More

Lots of shops of all sorts, eating places, from soda/drinks, candy stores, baked goods, chowders, to sit-down restaurants, great view of the river. One can see big container vessels and other ships, boats in the river. One can sign up for river tours with and without dinner. The weather was nice when we were there in the afternoon, so we... Although there are a myriad of tourist "junk shops" this historic area affords visitors a chance to see fabulous architecture, some amazing antique shops and a couple of excellent eating places. This is not a glamorous place that rivals Paris or London but a part of American history that we should all be proud of. I would not recommend this... More

Came into town one night passing through to Charleston. Had a great time walking around and a great dinner. So many people on a Saturday evening in September. Great to see the area doing so well. Lots of bars and beat shops and so much history in this great town!

Nice restored riverfront. Typical tourist stores, but also some neat shops and places to eat. A lot of history in the architecture and great to see the ships go by while walking or relaxing along the riverfront.

My husband and I and our 4 young adult children visited for the day. We stayed for about 30 minutes. It was dirty, crowded, and full of junk souvenirs. People are not friendly. If I ever come back here I will do a lot more research to find something worthwhile to see and do!

Great waterfront with excellent restaurants, shops, tourist attractions, and bars. Beware, the waterfront street is cobblestone. I would not recommend high heel shoes. Some of the stairs going down to the waterfront are steep, but there are elevators available in some of the hotels.
