One of the restaurants (Wild Wings) on this block, hired these 2 men to play music on the street and it was wonderful. They played my kind of music, Pink Floyd, BTO, Charlie Daniels, Lyn. Skynnard, southern rock. They had their guitars and were very talented. Sounded like a full band was up there. This was a Sat. afternoon and... More

This is a classic tourist trap. Souvenir stores line the market with overpriced junk. There was a band in the eventing that was nice to listen to. There than that, I would steer clear of this place on the weekend. Crowds of tourists.

There's actually no market here at all just a small open air pedestrian mall with a handful of shops and eateries. I guess we were expecting something more significant. Having lived in or visited larger cities that have really interesting and historic market areas, Savannah's City Market really isn't much. Savannah's "gold" lies in its history and architecture.

This area is so much fun to walk through, shop, eat on the sidewalk, & people watch. Great stores and so much variety to pick from. We visited twice on our short weekend trip and had a blast. Pet friendly too

We used the city market , which is really a collection of shops and restaurants as a starting place for our walking tour. Information center is here , so are the carriage and trolley services. Walk through old town , and than the parks great starting point!

A pedestrian-zone a couple blocks long. Lots of shops and restaurants ~ mostly filled with things you can find in lots of other places in Savanah. The Byrd Cookie Shop sucked us right in and we picked up some gifts for my in-laws and friends back home. Good place to people watch especially at the end near the water fountains.... More

This is just a two block section of candy stores, souvenir shops, bars, and an art gallery. No "market" really to be found. If you have to pick up pralines or a T-shirt I guess it's nicer to do it here then on River St, but otherwise no need to come here.
