Shopping, galleries, eateries. Sound familiar? That's because there are thousands of these types of areas across the U.S. However, this one's in Savannah, so there's some local flavor, of course, but all in all, this is nothing special. Good way to kill an hour before you decide you really need to go back and take a nap in your hotel... More

There are a few restaurants in City Market and plenty of little shops. From candy and touristy souvenirs to art stores and other knickknacks, there is something for everyone in City Market. The area was not as big as I had expected, but it was certainly a nice area to stroll through.

I always enjoy coming to this place when I'm in town! It has a little bit of everything. Local art, handmade gifts and eclectic 'stuff' from different vendors. Whenever I need to find a unique gift I always come here first!

If we weren't walking around the historic district or eating, we were in the City Market area. There are many bars and restaurants in City Market as well as live music in the evening. Very diverse crowd of people and very relaxed atmosphere. Lots of little art shops. Visit the Tree House and take a Carriage Tour while in City... More

We spent a couple of pleasant hours exploring the shops in City Market. There are a number of small art galleries, most with the respective artists on hand to talk about their work. There are also plenty of places to get souvenirs, food, beer, and pralines. We found it to be relaxed, pet-friendly, kid-friendly and fun. In other words, pretty... More

City Market is located to the side of Ellis Square. On the weekends there is live music playing in the street (2 blocks are walking only). The street is lined with shops and restaurants and bars. It is a lively place to go and check out.

To me Savannah is live oaks, Spanish moss, pre civil war mansions and southern charm. City Market is too many people, blasting music, walk up bars and tourist traps. If you are a bachelorette party this is your place to go. If you want the charm of Savannah, stay away.

When we are visiting Savannah, we lime to stop by the city market to shop and eat. Our favorites are WD Wings and Wet Willies. Also there are fountains kids can play in and sometimes they at movies in the outdoor market.

Savannah is a beautiful place to visit. Many squares/parks to see and shops to visit. Great place to revisit history.
