City market offered a good hub to our wanderings around town. It offers a little bit for everyone- galleries, restaurants, or just a place to people watch.

Great area for shopping, restaurants, coffee houses, and pubs. Lot's of history around the area and a great place for people watching!

We had the opportunity for leisurely enjoyment of the city market area. We liked this clean, open air market, lovely fountain, shops, & art galleries. The Savannah Candy Company is delightful! Their pecan pralines are not to be missed. There is ample seating & the restrooms are easy to find & accessible. One can book a carriage ride, sip coffee,... More

Typical tourist trap. High priced restaurants that frankly did not look all that appealing. Gift shops with foreign made trinkets. The highlight was that there was plenty of shade while waiting for the trolley and the Savanah Candy Company samples.

We always visit City Market when in Savannah. The stroll in March is not as colorful as it would be in Spring. Many benches to rest. Several kiosks to arrange carriage rides and other tours. You cannot visit the cookie shop and not try a sample. They have new gluten free cookies- chocolate chip and also key lime. Must try... More

I don't know why, but I expected this area to be much bigger than it was. It is only the 2 blocks between Ellis Square and Franklin Square. However, there were some very nice shops here. We bought a few things to take home, but were very disappointed that the candy shop was closed for some reason. Other shops were... More

City Market is always on our "Must do" list when we visit Savannah. So many little shops and restaurant, while we were visiting, there was a live band. They were great, I enjoyed them very much. City Market is the best place to find souvenirs and different gifts.

Maybe it was the time of day or year but I didn't find the city market very interesting. There were no stores (other than the candy kitchen) that I really cared to go into. River Street is much more fun and scenic - and has a candy kitchen as well.

During the day, City Market is a great stop for the whole group - lots of little shops and restaurants, and Ellis Square is fun to sit outside and enjoy the day. A couple carriage companies start their tours around City Market, so you can stop by and visit the gorgeous draft horses (and sign up for a tour!). There... More

Cool shops, good restaurants and bars, outdoor music. A good place to go if you want to people watch and hang out. It was a little chilly when we were there.
