In the middle of the Historic District lies the beautiful City Market. An authentic little part of Savannah we really enjoyed. From Ellis Square to Martin Luther King Blvd, lots of art galeries, restaurants and shops are waiting to be visited. A peaceful place in the relatively busy city of Savannah. Top attraction

City Market has it all - fun, shopping, music, and eating! You need to make sure you come here during the day and night. There is so much life here! The shops hold art, clothing, touristy stuff, foods, everything you could want. Make sure you come hungry as well because you will want to either sit and eat somewhere or... More

Though it only covers four square blocks of the historic district of Savannah, City Market captures the very soul of this lovely town - shopping, dining, art galleries, music, and more. Surprisingly, it does not feel 'touristy'. It reminds one of Pearl Street in Boulder. Stroll around, explore, and just enjoy this vibrant gem of the captivating South!

It was near our hotel and we ended up going there twice at night. I'm surprised to hear people say it is too touristy because I don't even like touristy sites, yet I loved it here. I even loved the performers even though some of them played country music and I generally hate country music. It was just an awesome,... More

Good stop to walk around and eat especially at Vinnie Go Go pizza restaurant and it is pet friendly. Great candy store next shop over also!! You can also listen to someone playing music outside while you stroll through this area.

We were waiting there for a while to get one of the free buses back to our dwelling. There was a ghastly musician there set up with an electric keyboard, playing so loud that I had to walk around the corner to try to block out some of the deafening noise. It might be ok at some other times, but... More

So many shops and restaurants. We enjoyed the open air areas with music at night and people sitting on patios of the restaurants. Food was excellent in many of the restaurants highly rated by trip advisor.

This is a blocked off street made in to a pedestrian promenade. Usual type of shops and restaurants. Byrd's at the west end offers free samples of 16 bite sized cookies. Byrd's cookies also happened to be offered in the SAV airport lounge. Very tasty. Savannah historic district is so beautiful. I wouldn't say this particular area is any more... More

This is worth an hour. This is a blocked off area that has a variety of shops and restaurants. We were there in October and the area was decorated for fall. We enjoyed taking in the scenery and think it would be a nice place to people watch.
