The Telfair Museums of Savannah are a collection of three different museums: the Telfair Academy with its collection of art up to the early 1900s; the Jepson Center for the Arts with contemporary art; and the Owens-Thomas House that highlights Georgian colonial/post-colonial home decor and architecture. I believe all three to be exceptional. For a meager admission fee, you can... more

I wouldn't pay to go back. The only thing of great interest was the bird girl which we couldn't even take a picture of. We are not art people I guess, but there was not much of it to see. more

I found the three Telfair Museums to be excellent for a small town....even for a larger town. There is so much true history in Savannah that the Museums really play on local history and state artists. If you are interested in either one of those than they are worth it.....Don't expect the MOMA but it is worth it to see... more

We visited both museum venues and neither of them were special. The modern portion - The Jepson Center - had some down right disturbing pieces (probably the intent!). You can buy a ticket to all 3 of these for $15. The original (old) mansion museum has traditional art and some fine impressionist paintings. It is worth a pass through if you like to visit museums and like art. This is the one with the Bird Girl statue. The "new" Jepson museum has modern art and is very cold... more

The three keys pieces in the “Art and Technology” gallery alone are worth the price of admission. The three interactive computer and video-based works capture the viewer’s image, then digitally manipulate it to create moving art pieces before her eyes. The moving images created are visually and technologically interesting, and add the giddy thrill of seeing your own image on... more

This is a great place to spend an hour. The two rooms that are restored from the original house are spectacular and the remaining pieces are pleasant if not spectacular. The combination admission ticket (with the Owens-Thomas House) for $12.00 is a bargain. more
