Beautiful California Landmark, never tire of the majesty of this bridge which my Uncles helped construct. Wonderful family stories. More

This is a great place to view the bridge with panoramic viewing decks and the pounding waves on the rocks is a dramatic site. No wonder Alfred Hitchcock shot Vertigo here and the place lends an uneasy feel to the procedings. Check the times for a guided tour by Park Rangers in historical costume. There is a charge for this... More

You can take some great pictures here but that's where it ends. The info we had said it was open from Thurs-Mon. We went on a Thurs only to find it closed. Signs said due to "heightened security"??? Fences were put up at the areas you would use to walk around the outside of the fort. Not sure if they... More

We setup picnic in this park on labor day weekend, it was little chilly but the location was perfect. It has golden gate bridge in the background, you can see alcatraz island. Perfect for family picnics. Traffic was bad as it was long weekend. but it was relaxing experience. More

Fort Point might be the the most curious historic attraction in San Francisco; two or three million people go right past it every day and never even know it's there --- because it's underneath the Golden Gate Bridge! Yes, underneath it. You have to turn off Highway 101 (on the San Francisco side) on Lincoln, the street adjacent to the... More

Fort Point was one of my favourite places to visit in San Francisco - even if the weather was foggy, windy and very very very cold when I visited. You are free to wander around this Civil War era fort and look at the cannons and other exhibits but the best part is the view from the roof; where you... More

This fort is great and was fun to visit. We didn't have much time as they were closing in 45mins from when we got there but, it was enought. They do not have a Junior Ranger Badge here, :o(. My sons got thier first view of the Pacific Ocean from the fort and they loved it. I have to agree... More

This historic fort is located underneath the Golden Gate Bridge and you could get some great views of the bridge on a clear day. Unfortunately when we were there it was very foggy so the bridge was mostly obscured. The fog and periodic sound of the fog horn gave the whole area an eerie feeling which was very cool. The... More

No trip to the Golden Gate Bridge would be complete without stopping at Fort Point...you'll see amazing views of the bridge from here as you are directly underneath it. Truly wonderful! More
