Hampden is a fun place to visit. There is Cafe Hon, a Baltimore throw back to the 50's. Lots and Lots of other fun stores and places to eat.

Home of the 'Hons" (beehive hairdo waitress who are friendly and sweet), many fun restaurants to eat at...don't forget the Charmery Ice Cream shop! In season, catch the "Miracle of 34th St.", an entire block with creative, magnificent Xmas lights...

We walked the 34th Street block from Chestnut and back across the street on the other side before late Thanksgiving dinner at Emporio Grano. Some houses were already all decked out, some not lit up, others in process. A fun, kitchy holiday show.

Hampden is a cute little neighborhood just west of Johns Hopkins University, with shops and artsy restaurants that are a hybrid of graduate student hangouts and real urban foodie delights. The neighborhood's old school working class row houses are increasingly populated with former Hopkins folks who decided to stay put and start families.. The used furniture stores are definitely worth... More

Hampden is quirky, congested and parking is always a challenge BUT I can not stay away from Charm City Skin. Ask for Camille if you want a hot stone massage that will land you on these pages.

Spent the afternoon here in and out of shops, Great finds and enjoyable atmosphere. Good coffee shops. looks like some nice place to catch a bite but we had already had lunch. Do find your way here if visiting Baltimore.

Hampden has come along way since I moved here in 1986. It used to be a run down, nothing of an area in Baltimore. Over the years it has grown into a quaint little area of exotic & interesting shops & restaurants. Its been cleaned up immensely & is much safer to walk the stores at night. The weekends are... They have an awesome book store. Plenty of restaurants and lots of cool things to look at. It is very eclectic and every store is different and many people are friendly. The charmery, an ice cream parlor that offers salty caramel ice cream yummy!

This neighborhood has a lot to offer, with many restaurants and cool stores. Check out the giant Pink Flamingo on "Hon Central!"
