This neighborhood has a lot to offer, with many restaurants and cool stores. Check out the giant Pink Flamingo on "Hon Central!"

The real taste of Baltimore. Maybe the last one. A tight neighborhood with lots of funky pubs and eateries. If the greeting hi Hon, means anything to you, you'll love this place. The last accessible, bastion of the old blue collar Balmer, hon.

Hampden has something for everyone. Over the last decade it has become more upscale with new shops and restaurants being added, as well as new residents. There are several annual festivals and events that have been going on for many years. The largest of these is the "HonFest" which is held on West 36th street or as us locales know... More

Super restaurants, antique shops, cute stores. Lots of fun for all ages. Best ice cream in the city at the Charmery.

My wife and I are Baltimore natives and we both have found Hamden to be our favorite area for a night out both with friends or on spur of the moment. The restaurants are plentiful and offer a wide range of cuisines and vibes and some are BYOB! There is something for everyone and every desire. Parking can be a... More

This was a fun neighborhood we had heard about and enjoyed strolling through it. Lots of Devine and John Waters stuff and more neighborhoody than downtown. Cute boutiques and restaurant options.

Everything is based around 36th st... There are lots of good restaurants and shops. The restaurants range from low to high end. There are lots of vintage and antique shops as well as specialty shops. Most of the shops close early (like 6pm).

The "Avenue" hon has come a long way from dime store shopping and Ponds (was a department store). From one end to the next, the Avenue offers a wealth of opportunities for the hungry visitor to the area. Starting at David's Sports Bar on Falls and 36th to the Creamery at 36th and Keswick a traveler can find an array... More

I went to Honfest for the first time this past spring with a friend. Honfest is an annual festival in June to celebrate the working women of Baltimore and the term of affection they use so frequently, hon, which is short for honey. For fun, certain people dress up in beehive hairdos usually with a brooch in it, cat like... More

Hampden is a cool area at any time of year, but at Christmas it takes on a special glow. Shopping and dining on 36th Street is always terrific. At Christmas, 34th Street becomes surreal with the homes all decorated and thousands of lights twinkling up and down the street. It is wonderful and if you are in Baltimore then, make... More
