It's a great little evening trip to a street that believes in decorating for Christmas! The town is also a great little find with some charming shopping and great restaurants. Also home to the "hon" festival in June.

I went to the Christmas Lights in December 2014. Getting off the interstate I was a little worried about the crime level, that is until I drove down the main street. The area is clean with nice looking houses and buildings and was full of life, with well dressed people walking to different shops, restaurants etc. The lights are a... More

Pretty gentrified, which I don't always think is great. The place looks the same, clean, pretty little places well kept, and safe, but it looks like it's losing businesses. Many of the older antique places are gone, although there are some new ones. There's one little shop I found that I fell in love with that sells, I guess you... More

I love it here - Get some incredible fries from Le Garage - some 'hon' gear from one of the local shops, dessert from Cafe Hon - and there are incredible shops for kids items or furniture. You could easily spend an entire day shopping here. And don't forget to visit for the Christmas Lights! An unforgettable experience - a... More

Off the Baltimore city center, Hampden retains the charm of Baltimore working area of 1950-s but nowadays has plenty of boutiques, antique art and book stores along W.36th street. On this street there are many small cafes, some of them with a couple tables outside. The area is quite, with little traffic. Beside half a mile of 34th street stroll,... More

Old area of town that has a mixture of the old and new. Pubs, restaurants, shops, difficult parking on the street.

Eclectically great. A nice afternoon strolling down the Avenue. The sites and the people are what make this great, spend and hour laugh, smile and have fun.

Hampden is a wonderful neighborhood. The joy of Hampden is you can walk up and down the street, window shop, have a bit to eat, find a treasure, and experience a homegrown Main Street atmosphere. Along the Avenue and its side streets there are many shops, restaurants, bars and galleries. For free parking, go to Falls Road (adjacent to the... More
