Such a cute place...Always feel like I'm a little back in time. Until I go to the restaurants...all terrific. Especially like the Fresh Market. Hampden is a great place also to stop and shop on your way to or from Clipper Mill if you're on your way to Woodberry Kitchen.

Yep, that's what we say in Bawlmer..... This is a very cute district with a lot of distinct shops and restaurants. The "feel" of this neighborhood is very Baltimore and is well deserving of a visit, especially Christmas time on 34th street where the houses come to life with lights.

We love Hampden - lots of great restaurants, nice shops, and friendly people. We enjoy restaurants such as the Food Market, Corner BYOB, Golden West (great brunch) and Alchemy. The Charmery has some of Baltimore's best ice cream, always with a local flavor or 4. Kitchy stores abound - some of our favorites are Bazaar Oddities and Curiosites, Lovely Yarns... More

A visit to Baltimore must include a trip down "da Avenue, Hon." Denise Whiting of Cafe Hon has helped put this little neighborhood on the big Baltimore Map. It is kitchy and locals don't mind making fun of their area and themselves!

From dining to the daily life of residemts, Hampden is fiercely independent and different. Top notch chefs, poets, beer can artists and urban rednecks live work and play in togetherr in Hampden. They are proud of Hampden which lends to its charm. For a visitor to Baltimore, you coupd get a feel for the quirks of the town as well... More

I love Hampden. My wife and I moved to Hampden last year and this neighborhood rocks. From the Christmas street, parks and recreation, the Rotunda, the light rail, the Avenue on 36th Street, you'll never be bored. There are numerous shops and restaurants and we're located in a pet friendly neighborhood where everyone looks out for one another, you'll love... More

Wanted to really see Baltimore so visited several neighborhoods and Hampden is an area that is certainly worth the trip. A short light rail trip from the Inner Harbor and a walk of less than 6 blocks and you find yourself in a small neighborhood with several great options for eating and drinking. The area does have cab service for... More

I live in Hampden, so am obviously biased, but there is a reason I moved here! Great restaurants, great vibe! Our favorite haunts are Fraziers (great neighborhood dive bar), Holy Frijoles (hipster Mexican, vegetarian friendly), and Food Market. Don't forget to stop by Trohv for housewares you did not know you needed. And Atomic Books for signed John Waters books... More

We took a taxi from Baltimore to Hampden for their first Friday's night. It has interesting shops, good bars and lots of places to eat. People were friendly and we weren't nervous walking around at night. Its eclectic, hippy-ish and fun. Ice cream shops and boutiques. Very nice way to spend an evening.

We wouldn't have found this little Baltimore neighborhood on our own, but a local introduced us to Hampden, a step back in time (think 1950s/60s and "Hairspray"). "The Avenue" is a few blocks long and chock full of unique shops, front porches, and some very authentic, reasonably priced Italian food that IMO puts Baltimore's Little Italy to shame. Try Daniela's,... More
