The only bar in Maryland to exist before, during, and prohibition. The Horse you Came in on Saloon has been at the heart of Baltimore's local live music scene for over fifty years. With over 15 performances a week "The Horse" as known by locals is still kicking. Toted as the last place the great American author and poet Edgar Allan Poe was seen the night before his mysterious death, legend has it his spirit still haunts the premises, with plenty of encounters and happenings to support the claim. « less

My husband and I randomly found this quaint place the locals enjoy and decided to try it for a beer and lunch. Friendly crowd and bartender. History of place is on their placemats and they love to share stories with you. Musician playing had good vocals and very funny interacting with crowd. Food was so yummy ! We'll definitely make... We stopped in at this bar late on a Friday night. The stools were cool to sit while listening to live music. When the band wasn't playing, the radio played some feel good songs like Brown Eyed Girl. There is a little room for those who like to groove. As you move back, there is more of a bar area.... More

This was just one of the many pubs that we hit in Fell's Point after my cousin's wedding. There are MANY pubs in Fell's Point! I loved the history and the charm here. The drinks were great, and the staff was great. Make sure that you stop here and have a drink! More

My wife and I had a beer here during our visit between Oct 15-19. The place is small and the drinks are not really cheap, but being in such an old bar was really cool. Mr. Poe's ghost even dimmed the street light next to the sign so I could take a picture. More

My husband & I were visiting Baltimore for his birthday and decided to stop here for a drink after dinner. We sat at a table and were ignored for 20 minutes. The bartender served drinks and food to the table next to us and although my husband was waving his arms to get his attention we were ignored. So finally... More

This saloon is located in Fells Point, which is also fantastic for great shops, food and relaxing by the harbor. The saloon has signs all over the walls, from goofy bar signs to old wanted posters. There are some items you can purchase for souvenirs. I hung out here for a bit with some friends and had a drink (prices... More

What seems to me as an apparent given, is that you will exploit people until they try to go back. Once bitten, twice bitten??? Check with your own security people!!!! The more that you look, the more that you will be infected! Ron More
