The Broadway shows come to Balitmore a half a dozen times a year and this is the venue. A theater built in the 1930's or so, that has been lovingly maintained, with great acoustics and sight line. Deceptively large(2200 seats), but with an intimate feel--wonderful place to see a show.

We went to the Hippodrome to see Wicked. We ate a nice dinner in Little Italy before the show at Sabatino's. We were a group of 6 who bought our tickets online. It was easily accessible from either 295 or I-95. There was a parking facility a half of a block north of the theatre and it was only $11.... More

Saw Wicked here in early April. Very impressed with the decoration of the theatre, as well as the architecture. They did an amazing job with the renovations, you can see pictures of before and after and it is truly amazing. Restrooms are plentiful. Parking is plentiful, and you can even prepurchase your parking tickets. The area is also safe to walk... More

Really loved Wicked, twice at this venue. Too bad this theater sells food and drink to be consumed in the theater during the show. Removes all the class of going to the theater and really ruins it for the audience members who truly enjoy performing arts and respect the artists at work. Hard to believe people can't go 2-3 hours... More

We have gone their twice in the last year, most recently to see Wicked. It is a breath takingly beautiful theater. The staff are super nice. They serve mixed drinks, wine and such. The seating both times was wonderful. I wouldn't sit in the first 5 rows of any theater due to the orchestra and the way it sits kind... More

This gem was salvaged from disuse and disrepair and lovingly brought back to life. The theater looks terrific and fills a need for good theater in this area of Baltimore. The shows are often brought in by Broadway Across America and are high quality productions. The only caveat is that while we felt very safe attending a matinee, I would... More

This is a very beautiful building. Acoustics are excellent and the way the seating is arranged there are very few poor seats. We saw The Producers several years ago and Chicago on 3/7/15. Both excellent productions. Location is close to Inner Harbor. Tickets can be bought on line and seating is really great. I suggest you get tickets way in... More

This was our first visit to the Hippodrome but it won't be our last. The theater is very easy to get to. If you park in the garage...you can get to the lobby without going out onto the street. Not only is this safer, but it keeps you from having to deal with a coat. The lobby is spacious &... More

I've seen many a show in this establishment and I love the acoustics and atmosphere. I have seen the nutcracker Tony Bennet and even Susie Orman . The seats are smaller and tight but all are good in the house. There are some speakers hanging on stage left and right that can impede to view if you go too far... More

My daughter took me to this beautiful charming theatre for a mother daughter get together. This theatre just has such charm, the red velvet seat are close but comfortable, the show price very good, for the on stage performance. If you are in or around Baltimore this is the place to go. Inner Harbor is close, convention center also. The... More
