Self guided tour or wait for the tour guide-it's free!! could give a small donation. If you're into detail of a building and art artifacts this is a must see. More

An earthquake hit the eastern seaboard in the Fall of 2011; it did five million dollars in damage to this historic church. If the cathedral had not been previously restored, it might have simply collapsed. There are good reasons why this church/cathedral/basilica/national historic site/national shrine is the most titled building in the United States. Take a tour and discover why... More

The choir on Mother's Day was absolutely breathtaking. Ave Maria was sung beautiful and really just a beautiful service. We couldn't stay for the tour because we needed to leave and check out of our hotel, but really appreciated to be able to attend 10:45 service. The circulator bus is convenient and drops you off at the corner and you... More

The history of the building and the history of the Roman Catholic church in the United States. The stories of Benjamin H Latrobe, John Carroll and Cardinal Gibbons were intriguing. The arches, the towers, the crypt, the museum, the organ, and the earthquake damage tell a marvelous story. More

Inside of Basilica is very beautiful. It is an oasis in the middle of downtown. The outside is not exceptional but still a good view. More

I attended mass here and also did the tour. It was amazing how much has changed but how beautiful and feminine the Church is. Learned more about the Catholic faith and traditions from the tour. Would recommend for everyone to do the self-guided or walking tour. More

After reading about the architectural renovations of 2006 ,I was happy to visit the basilica this weekend while in town. We attended Mass then stayed for the tour. The space is light and open. Historical as this is America's first basilica. More
