The crowd was sort of stuffy with the sent of moth balls in the air. the Music was wonderful and professionally preformed. if in humanities for college you can normally do this for credit.

Jacksonville has a talented and enthusiastic orchestra. Their repertoire is eclectic with programs for varied musical tastes. There are morning coffee concerts, including the Christmas one, that present abbreviated programs that conclude by lunch time. This is ideal for groups or those who are unable to attend night time concerts. The present conductor will be moving on, but rest assured... More

Mid sized orchestra with big orchestra sound. Enjoyed Courtney Lewis, guest Conductor - He's as fun to watch as he is to play for.

Over the course of two weekends, we caught three different concerts, all wonderful. JSO sounds great, has great players, and does interesting music.

Attended a concert featuring William Walton's Belshazzar's Feast. The choir was wonderful, but I was blown away by the orchestra. Everything from the strings to the brass, winds, and percussion was played with musical artistry. I especially enjoyed the low brass, performing sensitively, but with great authority. Get out to see and hear the Jacksonville Symphony!

Performing in the Jacoby Concert hall built just for them, the JSO is awesome. Only place in town to here classical music performed as it was meant to be. If you are not into classical, come to a pops show and here how good pops music sounds with a full orchestration. Also provides great educational shows to get kids excited... More

Fantastic orchestra in a wonderful facility. Great variety of musical venues to choose from with Family, Coffee, Pops, Discovery, and Masterworks Series offered on many evening or daytime performance schedules to accommodate different age groups and work schedules. Prices range to suit any budget. There is not a bad seat in the house. We have been going to the Masterworks... More

Superb musicians in this wonderful symphony orchestra. Price (especially if you purchase season tickets) cannot be beat. The best cultural offering to be had in Jacksonville. The venue in the Times Union Building has terrific acoustics; there is no bad seat.

WE go to the "Old Folks Symphony" @ 11 am on Fridays. Lots of buses, walkers and a sea of white hair. However that doesn't dilute the enjoyment of the Jacksonville Symphony and all the other guests they bring in.
