Great City Park! Bike, Walk, Run

Great place to run, walk bike. Family oriented! If there are heavy rains water levels seem to increase quite a bit.

We love this trail and bring as many friends and family members with us, but we start at the baldwin entrance. Tried the jax one and didn't like the power lines you have to ride past to get to the trees. I think it was about 1 1/2 miles you have to ride, its ok but prefer the baldwin start.... More

This is probably Jacksonville's best cycling trail. It's a shame that it's located in such an inconvenient location west of town, and that it is all but impossible to safely ride there from anywhere else in town. Maybe some day, Jacksonville will develop a better cycling infrastructure that will connect this great trail with the rest of the City. Until... More

This trail is a relatively wide paved strip with a closely-mown grass shoulder on both sides. Almost all the way it is tree-lined which often provides shade from the hot Florida sun. It is very close to flat with only the mildest of undulations. The main problem with it that it is inaccessible by any form of public transit, so... More

My family has enjoyed riding bikes on this trail for years. When I tell people about Jacksonville I always include the trail because I think it is one of the best things Jacksonville has to offer. One is able to enjoy a beautiful outdoors experience on a well-maintained paved path with good parking and bathrooms. Most of the people who... More

Paved trail runs 15 miles (30 roundtrip) from Imeson Road in Jacksonville to Baldwin. Parking and restroom facilities are available at both ends of the trail and at the 5-6 mile point - Camp Milton Historic Preserve. Trail is mostly rural passing by some homes, farmland, pasture, wetlands and pines. Trees overhanging the trail provide shade. This is a wonderful... More

At least 3-4 times a year we walk or bike the Baldwin Trail. Beautiful at different times of the year. Alot of small wildlife... even a small non-poisonous snake on the trail, a cotton mouth moccasin in the creek and many rabbits! Never know what you may see next so take a leisurely stroll and slow down especially on an... More

If you time it right, this trail can be a peaceful, serene place to walk, bike. If not, be ready for loud families, groups, cyclists and skaters as they bring their noise with them from the city. Some cyclist can sneak up on you, so keep your eyes/ ears open and stay to the right. Overall, when I go, I... More
