The path is paved and shaded for the majority of the ride, providing beautiful views and a break from the Florida sun. It's rarely crowded and there are plenty of places to stop off to the side and enjoy a packed lunch. A favorite activity in Jacksonville, be sure to bring plenty of water!

As an older bicycle rider I'm a big fan of Rails to Trails and have been on most of them around Florida. My favorite by far is the stretch of the Jacksonville-Baldwin trail that starts at its Camp Milton mid-point and goes on to Baldwin. Camp Milton is itself is a nice park with a boardwalk and benches on which... More

I recently purchased a new bike. I learned about this trail from the bike shop. This is an excellent place to enjoy a bike ride. The terrain is mostly level. There are very few highways that need to be crossed. It is covered by trees for a large portion which makes for a more comfortable ride. Remember to bring plenty... More

I just bought a new road bike, and to learn to ride with clips this has been the perfect location. Very few roads to cross, usually with little traffic, then free and clear. People on the trail are always friendly and helpful. Great facility!

This is a paved 15 mile trail, with several interesting stops along the way. Lots of shade. Make sure you have plenty of water, especially if you start at the eastern trail head, you'll need to ride almost halfway before reaching a place to refill. It's a straight line ride on mostly flat terrain. just remember when you ride, that... More

This trail is perfect for biking. At least three-quarters of it is shaded by trees on both sides. Very quiet and clean. Just need to watch out for those hard-core bike racers, speeding by every minute at at least 30m/hour or more. If you plan to just do laid-back cruising, stay on the right side of the trail.

This is a great place to come ride a bike and enjoy getting out. The parking lot on the Jax end was nearly full when we got there around 10am. Still, the ride was pleasant with the feel of very little traffic. The ride takes you through a variety of typical low land environments. The road surface is smooth although... More

We have only been to the J-B Rail Trail one time. We were invited by dear friends to ride bikes and we got all set up to do so, rode out 11.5 miles and then 8.5 miles back when we had a terrible accident and my wife crashed and broke her shoulder. Not good. But we were able to get... More
