This small theater, made up of volunteers from the community, was founded in 1919 and based in this same facility since the completion of the building (started in 1927) in 1938. The cast is always great and the venue is charming. The only issue with the theater itself, and I am not sure how to improve given the size, is... More

HAIRSPRAY has upbeat music, an interesting story, and great singers. The costumes added to the feeling you were in Baltimore in 1962. Race relations are at the heart of the show and Tracey, the heroine, makes it her mission to show how unfair it is not to let the black kids be part of the popular TV dance show. If... More

This is a well-run community theatre with a nice program of straight plays, musicals, and one acts. The surrounding neighborhood of San Marco is worth a visit all on its own - great restaurants for before or after the show.

Perfect little theatre! If you're short, make sure to get a seat towards the front. I saw hairspray here and it was magnificent. A completely volunteer cast but it didn't show. Go see a show here, or be in one!

My husband and I decided to do "something different" for our date night, so we saw "Figaro" at Theatre Jacksonville. The show and the actors/actresses were entertaining. We will definitely be back for an encore for another performance.

I'm a little on the older side and this is the first time I've been to a theatre since I was in high school This is a great venue and there isn't a bad seat in the place. That's the first time I've seen Les Miserables and I was engrossed the entire show. The price was reasonable and buying the... More

I like everything about Theatre Jax. The director is a dedicated professional and works tirelessly to provide quality stage productions, as well as raising support for the theater. The education department provides a terrific summer camp experience which has fanned the flames of many aspiring performers. There are workshops offered throughout the year for kids, teens, and adults. The location... More

This is the oldest community theatre in Florida and a real treasure. We have been supporters of this institution since moving to the area 17 years ago and enjoyed almost every performace. They are creative and not afraid to tackle tough productions. They are intending to produce Les Miserables in the 2013-2014 season. If you are in town and looking... More

Easy to locate, interesting design and a good selection of current movies available. The admission price is also reasonable.

Well done productions. Nice atmosphere in a cute part of town. Parking is always a challange, though.
