Our independence

Such a beautiful memorial to the local veterans who made sacrifice for us. To look at the names engraved on the wall makes one appreciate the freedom we have.

This Veterans Memorial wall downtown Jacksonville is a fantastic tribute to the fallen soldiers and is also a great reminder of sacrifices given by others for our freedom we have a lot of people that take it for granite. Very will done and laid out

I attended last year and was excited to see people still cared enough about our fallen soldiers to attend the event. It was mostley made up of veterans and their families. What better place to celebrate Memorial Day. Remembering those that gave their all and mingling with those that made it through the tough times. Unfortunately the city spends no... More

This memorial is a gem to this city that has a long military background. Mr. Moore, a friend and fellow high school student, was responsible for this memorial's existence. He gave to this city what will last for many years reflecting the sacrifice that our soldiers made for this country. As with the memorial in Washington DC, I have visited... More

We got there an hour early to park, but traffic was so horrible and parking is poorly marked so we still didnt get to the show until after it started! All of the roads and parking are poorly marked!

This is one reason I am so proud to live in this city. Jacksonville Florida has a very long military history covering all branch's. We honor all those who served there country (less than .5 percent of the populous) and many of the people who live her either served themselves or had past or current relatives who did. Please take... More

Loved it. People were friendly, the park was clean and water was plentiful. The sand was easy on the dogs paws, and well maintained.

I have visited this memorial several times and also the memorials in Washington DC. Always a somber experience to this Vietnam vet. Mr. Moore deserves a lot of credit for bringing the Jacksonville memorial to reality.
