The Jacksonville Arboretum and Gardens is a delightful place to wander down lovely paths with beautiful vistas! Dedicated volunteers have worked diligently to create and maintain the paths, with many plants labeled. Take a lunch and stop at a bench and listen to the birds! Great nature spot right in the middle of town!

The Jax Arboreteum is fantastic. There is no fee to enter, although they have donation boxes. Free maps of the trails are provided. You can literally walk for miles covered by lush foliage. The name "Gardens" is a bit misleading. You will not see many of your typical bright covered flowers. You will experience crisp refreshing air, beautiful surroundings, and... More

I've lived in the Jacksonville area for 3 years and just found out about this place. I am from Virginia and was missing a nice wooded place to hike around in. This place is great. I didnt smell any sewage plant smells at all (like another reviewer mentioned). Some of the trails have actual hills, which is rare for the... More

I didn't realize this park existed until our group of photographers went to visit. Honestly...it shouldn't be called Gardens (or at least I didn't see any). There are plenty of walking trails, however, those are not clearly marked. The place is hidden off of Monument Road and if I were going by myself I don't feel like I would be... More

This place is a nice idea, but it is built next to a sewage treatment center and everything smells. It is isolated, and we had out car broken into when there. Several other cars were hit, too.

The Jacksonville Arboretum and Gardens is nothing more than a few walking paths through the woods. Gardens? Really? I'm not sure how long this place has been around but it seems as though it hasn't been around for a long time. Granted, volunteers and staff are trying to do their best to make this spot a true arboretum but for... More

Jacksonville Arboreteum & Gardens consists of 120 acres of well maintained trails. That lead through woods, of rare maples , roses, magnolias, all are labled. Their are several gardens, a native garden, Aaian bamboo garden. Their are many events, and an event lawn. The facilities are clean, the staff is efficient. I enjoyed myself.

Went for a hike here with my SO and spent like 2 hours doing most of the trails. Get there early where there's not much people so you can enjoy the full beauty of nature around the area. It's very close to the 295 exit. There is no entrance fee, however, you should donate to help keep the gardens and... More

We've spent time at this park many times over the last few years and they're making vast improvements. There are several trails and its a good place to get an hour of solitude if you need it. Can't wait to see this place in bloom next spring!
