Several miles of hiking trails around a lovely lake, through live oaks with an amazing diversity of mushrooms and other fungi. What imagination and foresight people had to turn this area of former contamination into a wonderful garden and arboretum that feels far from the city. It was a restorative sanctuary.

This is indeed a nice retreat. The flowers and foliage is beautiful. The walks are nice and serene too. This is a great little get away from the hustle and bustle.

I have now visited this park on numerous occasions and each time I have loved it. There are wide easy paths for those with unsure footing to follow plus other more challenging paths if you feel like exploring. I love how all the plants have name tags as I often see a shrub I really like and would love in... More

This is a great place for an easy hike. What I liked about hiking here was that it was a wonderful place to go and instantly feel like you aren't in the city. The hiking level is easy and it can feel like a nice stroll in the woods. I loved the ravines and on one trip saw a baby... More

Although it has its merits, the Jacksonville Gardens proved to be quite a disappointment mostly because we had just recently visited the Arboreteum and Gardens in Asheville, North Carolina, a truly beautiful and incredibly well planned and landscaped example of a public garden. A small and by its nature, peaceful setting, it paled in comparison to the larger and much... More

Such a beautiful property! Several trails of varying lengths with so much of nature's beauty. Fair warning-do NOT go after several days of rain. The drainage is not fast. Several trails will be under water for days after extended rains.

my boyfriend and i went running here a few weeks ago and it was great! Most paths are shaded so even though it was 100 degrees outside it felt more like 90.. i know that doesn't sound like much but it is when are running. Beautiful and great.

We visited this past weekend and it was like love at first sight. Its so quiet and peaceful. I love the trails. We walked all of them. The sights were beautiful! Each trail is unique. The Jones Creek Trail is my favorite, its short but so pretty! Lake Ray was breath taking! There was so much shade on the trails... More
