My sister and I celebrated her birthday by attending the Melissa Ethridge concert at The Florida Theater. The theater is old but has charm and personality. Had first row mezzanine seats that were amazing, and unlike many venues the seats were comfortable and roomy. Melissa Ethridge put on an unbelievable show...two hours of shear brilliance. She is a consummate musician... More

Much like the Fox in Atlanta , there's not a bad seat in the house! They don't build them like anymore! Music comedy or theatre , there's no where better to catch your faves!

This is a smaller, but still good-sized theater. Beautifully detailed and such a nice change. We were there to see a concert, and my only complaint was that the ushers weren't very attentive to disruptions. The people next to us kept talking and getting up and down; it really took away from my experience, because I was there to see... More

Gorgeous venue with excellent seating and acoustics. The staff is helpful. A bit too much unnecessary security presence.

This is a beautiful, historical theater that has been nicely preserved. This venue attracts some great shows that we've recently enjoyed. There are, however, a few caveats that you should know before buying tickets. First, parking in downtown Jacksonville is challenging and can be frustrating if you're not expecting it. What is this NYC?? Secondly, getting in and out of... More

The theater is VERY old. The seats were made for people that are small. I felt like a giant in the seat. My husbands knees were indented in the seat in front of him. The theater has a musty old smell to it. I enjoyed the show but was unable to last to the end of the show related to... More

I have been to several concerts at this venue and just about every seat in the house is great! The atmosphere and old feel are amazing

We've attended concerts and ballet performances at this fine old theater, once a sumptuous movie house, and have never been disappointed. You'll enjoy the decor in the lobby and the theater as well as the performances. Don't miss a chance!

Moved out of the area and went back to see a show (Lisa Lampanelli) with friends. The venue is still beautiful, this old theater has been well renovated and is well kept.

Although I appreciate the history and architecture of this beautifully restored theater, I did not enjoy attending the performance in Oct. 2014. The volunteers were not knowledgeable when it came to seating directions and it caused much confusion. The audio sound was a bit laud and off and took away from the performer. But what really turned me off was... More
