Great place to visit and learn history about the fire departments in Jacksonville from the past. There is a lot of old antique fire department equipment on display there. The attendant was very nice and had a lot of knowledge of the equipment and timelines of things that happened in Jacksonville. Well worth the visit there is no charge for... More

This is worth a visit if you are in the area. It's near the Everbank Jaguar Stadium and St John's River in the downtown northside community. Give it a try if you have kids. There is a nice children's park on the same side of the street!

We stopped by while we were waiting for the rest in our group to finish lunch. It was very cool to walk around and see all the old fire stuff. There were several kids with us and they really enjoyed it as well.

It is worth the trip to stop at the Jacksonville Fire Museum. We were spellbound by the story of the Jacksonville Fire, which we'd never heard of. The equipment there is amazing. They do an excellent job of taking care of it; and you'll be swept back in time to simpler, but more dangerous days. Thanks to the good people... More

Museum website says they're open Monday-Friday 9-5, we showed up yesterday (Wednesday at noon) and the gate was shut, I called, and no one answered.

Went to the firehouse with some local relatives who had never heard of it after over 25 years living in Jacksonville. It's a small museum that asks only for a donation. It's actually set up very nicely with quite a bit of information and historical objects. With small children one hour is the absolute most you will want to spend... More

The kids loved looking at the old engines. Interesting info on the great fire of 1901.
