The only benefit to this place is when special events are happening like the Gator Bowl or July 4th. The river is nice to look at, but you should visit downtown for the river and not for the landing. The stores are dilapidated and a lot are closed. The turnover rate is extremely high. The only survival has been Hooters!... more

My family frequents the Landing often. We love walking on the Riverwalk and taking the Water Taxi. There are a great variety of restaurants and shops. You can get anything from ice cream to a martini. The best part is that the Landing is a place you can take your family and feel safe while having a FREE good time.... more

The Landing claims to be family oriented however it is clearly adult oriented. There is a lot of drinking and smoking (In the 45 minutes we were there, we witnessed many inebrated people). It's great! I don't know what fishtail86 is talking about. We go there a lot at night with our family to walk along the river and listen to the bands that play there frequently or eat at one of the great restaurants (like the new Cajun place) and I've never felt safer.
