Great Stopover, Cheap Camping

Sleeping in the car at Wal Mart is better. This was the worst camping experience of my life. The navy base 200 yds away is SO LOUD literally all night, sounding sirens, loading ships, flying helicopters. The rules are incredibly restrictive, including curfews. Bathrooms Are filled with standing sewage and I've never seen this many insects. Walking from the tent... More

We stopped here before we embarked on the long trip back to Tucson. I loved the beach, and at the time we were there it was very quiet with not many people. It may have been the off season, but it was peaceful and we had a nice walk around the island in the evening. The camp host was pleasant... More

I have never driven on a beach before and it was my first time to do so. Easily the highlight of my trip! Have to be careful with some of the sand and the small birds that are all around the beach - you wouldn't want to ruin their habitat. I love the fact that you can park in the... More

water was just right, good sand, busy, busy beach. Like a giant tailgate party. Bathroom facilities are a far way. Blue John's set up 200yds from main beach area

This is a nice little park near the beach. has tennis courts and a little grassy space. This is a park tucked in between houses, so you might drive by and not see it.

This is a wonderful place to spend the day. Nice long beach for walking. One of the few places you can drive your vehicle on.

So, keep this in mind that I am from Minnesota so driving on the beach was the highlight to our visit! It was great to be able to drive on the beach and park close to the water! Our visit was on a Thursday so the beach wasn't crowded and we were able to drive on the lagoon side as... More

The park itself is great. However, the beach is small and crowded. It lacks character with no waves and tough sand. I was not pleased with the number of people who brought speakers and blasted their choice of music right next to us, nor did I enjoy the "fishing" taking place all around us (somewhat scary, really).

Awesome and the beach is accessible...no lugging coolers, chairs, etc. Just park and open the hatchback!!!

My friend and I went camping and got a spot on the river. Awesome view. That's about the only good thing. We got stuck in the sand and everyone wanted to help but they couldn't. Called the front desk and all the had to say was it wasn't their responsibility. We weren't mad but we were hoping to get some... More
