Rob Gibson is perhaps the best wet-plate photographer around. His knowledge of the photographers, photography style, and the art in general is unsurpassed. Combined with great customer service, an authentic studio with an authentic wardrobe, a trip to Gibson's Photographic Studio tops off any trip to Gettysburg. This is not your tourist photo, where a normal picture is tinted to... More

If you want to experience what was like to take pictures back in the days using the authentic 1800's camara and wearing the clothes they wore - this is the place to go! They really take care of you by dressing you up and telling you fantastic stories about the civil war and it's different characters. They also show you... More

This was the coolest thing we did during our visit to Gettysburg! Dee and R.J were fantastic and made it a full experience. We loved their attention to detail, skill, and efforts to not only photograph us, but also to educate us on the process of using civil war era cameras and developing methods. It was well worth every penny... More

This was just a riot. My girls thought this was the best thing we did in Gettysburg. I was shocked when our image started appearing...it was just so amazing. The whole process from start to finish was just great! We've done the dress-up saloon pictures in Jackson Hole and this was nothing like that--this was real. Highly recommend doing this.

I have been traveling to Gettysburg for over 20 years now, and although my week's schedule is usually packed to the hilt with park ranger programs, battlewalks, and campfires, I have always wanted to get an "old time" photo in the place that I love so much. While planning my yearly trip this summer, I came across an excellent article... More

Mr. Gibson and his wife (and their pooch), are fantastic people! I had my photo taken today in his studio and I'm still admiring the masterpiece. Im not vain, however I am a woman whom disguised myself as a union soldier for the photo, and cannot get over how well he and his wife pulled off the convincing picture. In... More

What a wonderful experience! I had read online about Rob and decided to go in for a photo. I made a reservation for later in the day, although they do take walk ins. I truly felt like the Belle of the Ball in this studio. His wife and mother-in-law were extremely friendly and helpful with getting me ready for the... More

This was a wonderful experience and well worth the time and money. My granddaughter and I dressed in 1863 ball gowns. Mrs. Gibson dressed us perfectly with accessories, makeup and hair ornaments. Mr. Gibson expertly adjusted the light and placed us in perfect position. He developed the tin-type in front of us. What an experience! And I have the results,... More

Professional, friendly and takes his time. Showed us how the whole process worked, and the tintype turned out superb. Rob is a very cool guy and we got a first rate memento of our trip.
