My husband and I enjoyed an in-depth historical tour led by Mr. John Winkelman. We cannot stress enough that he made our trip to Gettysburg. He was insightful, witty, and professional. We learned more in 2 1/2 hours than we could have on our own or in a large tour group. Kudos to the Licenses Battlefield Guides for the caliber... More

My family visited Gettysburg this July, during the 151st anniversary since the battle. My Great, Great, Great Grandfather and his father both fought in the battle at Gettysburg. I grew up in Pennsylvania, and had been to the park numerous times. While planning our trip, I read about the “Association of Licensed Battlefield Guides”. A little leery, we decided on... More

July 6, 2014 We've toured the Gettysburg battlefield at least 6 or 7 times. We've done it with licensed guides and without, by audio CD in a car and on a motorcycle (seriously fun on the bike!), and just driving through on our own. Today we did a Segway tour with a licensed guide. My Wife and I have done... More

Summer of 2013: Aunt, Uncle and 13-Year-Old Nephew on a summer trip. We had an excellent visit here. We only had two days for Gettysburg, so we saw the Museum & Visitor Center, the Gettysburg Diorama and the Seminary Ridge Museum on the first day and took a private, 3-hour tour of the battlefield on day two. This review covers... More

This is the best way to understand the 3 day battle at Gettysburg. Take this tour first in the comfort of your own car. This will give you a first hand experience as to the events of the 3 days in July 1863. It also helps to read up on the battle of Gettysburg, the generals in charge and or... More

This is probably the BEST tour I have ever been on anywhere. I called and left a message about two weeks prior to our arrival date. I received a return phone call that evening from our tour guide Mike Strong. He asked some questions about who and how many would be on tour and he recommended a three our tour.... More

First time at Gettysburg, great tour and we appreciated the personal interaction with our tour guide. He took us through the days smoothly and at the end, knowing we were from Massachusetts, made a point to show us a monument that essentially was a large rock. It was called Puddingstone. Chuck's attention to detail made the tour worth more than... More

We used a licensed guide for a 3 hour tour of the battlefield (booked ahead of time via e-mail). Though I have visited the battlefield on 3 other occasions over the years and have studied Civil War history, I came away enlightened with a much better understanding of the battle. Our excellent guide, Joe Mieczkowski, was extremely knowledgeable and provided... More

Just Spent two days at Gettysburg battlefield and hired a guide for both days. On the second day we hit the lottery by getting Charlie Fennel (AKA Dr. Charles Fennel) as our guide. It was an amazing day and exceeded any and all expectations. This man is a treasure and I encourage anyone with an interest in the battle of... More

My husband and I spent Memorial Day Weekend in Gettysburg. We had visited the battlefield on one time prior a few years ago and did the bus tour, which had a very good guide. This time, we opted to book a licensed guide. I called 3 days prior to schedule a private tour. I left a message and received a... More
