We now offer featured rides with living historians in period dress who will tell you what life was like during the time of the Civil War. For those who love in-depth history, the Licensed Battlefield Guide is the only way to go. The battlefield story unfolds as you ride right where the soldiers were - experiencing the power of this important time in our nation's history from the center of the battlefield itself. Horse lovers and historians alike will enjoy this ride. Our horses have all been awarded healthy horse certification by a premier Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. The horses are very friendly and mild mannered. We look forward to riding with you. Gettysburg Battlefield is one of my favorite historic areas to visit and I have toured the battlefield many times by foot,by car,and by bicycle. The only thing left was a tour on horseback and it was well worth the wait!! It gives you a totally different perspective on this hallowed ground. You can truly get a sense of what the... More

We were able to finally do this ride after visiting getttysburg several times. We were impressed with the lead staff and guide, Kendall and Tim. Good instruction for first time riders. The horses were well behaved, despite some who couldn't resist the lush green grass! Was impressed by the condition of the saddles and helmets, being that they are well... More

This is a one of a kind trip you can take with our without your own horse. I take my horse and go with about 20 friends one a year to ride the battle grounds. The trails are excellent and the views are inspirational. Its difficult to believe all the loss of life that was endured during the battles that... More

I was nervous to ride a horse, but I have always wanted to do it. I also have never been to Gettysburg, so I decided to combine the two! The ride was very well organized. We were given very clear instructions on how to handle the horses. The staff were awesome: Katie - Provided clear safety guidelines and was extremely... More

I booked an online reservation for 3 people for July 19th. Prepayment was $180. The week we went the area was under a heat wave-- high 90's every day. At 6:36 on the 19th I received an email from Rachel stating that due to the heat the ride will be cancelled and refund will be via PayPal within 3-5 days.... More

Took the Victorian Carriage ride through part of the battle field. Was the best tour we have taken in Gettysburg. Really gives you a chance to see the battle field and the tour guide was very entertaining and informative. Loved the pace of the carriage ride. Would do it again.

This was our second ride with Confederate trails and once again it was fabulous. We took the one hour ride with our children (13 and 12) and had the pleasure of an actor along who impersonated General James Longstreet, CSA. The horses were extremely well trained, friendly and gentle and General Longstreet provided fascinating history about his life. The scenery... More
