We took the 2-hour trail ride with our guide Terri who was both informative and most enjoyable. Pam, the owner was a gem in every manner. This was my 10 year-old nephew's first trail ride and Pam could not have been more kinder and safety conscious. He was just trilled and this was the highlight of our week in Gettysburg... More

First I have to start with how nervous I was about riding a horse, this was my first time! I didn't even know how I was going to get on to the horse. We met hickory hollow at the camp ground met Pamela, she was just amazing asked about or experience on horses and then reashoreed us that we would... More

This was so much fun! Unfortunately you had to ride single file so it was impossible to have a conversation, but riding behind the Confederate lines was worth that. It was the first time out for the horses this year but they were still great even with first time riders. I would definitely do this again!

This was the most incredible experience! Not only did we get to ride these beautiful animals, but our guide helped us really understand the battle on that side and Pickett's charge. I thought I knew a lot about the War but I truly understood it on a different level after her talk and being on the horses. My husband and... More

We did our tour over 6 months ago, but my kids still rave about it when they talk about it!! My children's school requires a summer visit to a historical place, and an accompanying report. We choose Gettysburg and after some research, decided a horse tour would be a great way to learn about the Battlefield. My 8 year old... More

From the moment we started our ride, Pam made everyone feel welcome. Her greatest concern was the safety of her riders. She matches you with the horse that fits you best. She then gives you individual instruction for that horse. She puts you at ease right away. I had Viggo. Viggo tends to slow up at times. His nickname is... More

Wow, I don't even know what to say! Pam was such a sweet, kind lady! There was a boy in our group who had never been on a horse before and she was excellent at making him feel comfortable and having him ride right behind her. I hadn't been on a horse in about two years, so was a little... More

Pam is such a sweet kind lady! I have rode with Hickory Hollow on two different occasions and both times it was such a fantastic experience. I can not express what a very relaxing, beautiful adventure this is! I am a little nervous around horses and these horses make you feel so comfortable, very well trained!

We decided to try a horseback tour while visiting Gettysburg National Military Park in September and chose Hickory Hollow. Both were good decisions! On horseback, you can see and feel the battlefield as the soldiers did 150 years ago, particularly the participants in Pickett's Charge. We walked parts of the area and did a good part of the auto tour,... More

The Gettysburg National Military Park was closed due to the government shutdown when we made our visit on October 4th, so our planned battlefield tour by horseback had to be altered. However, Pam offered us an alternative ride through trails on her 68 acre farm, and we opted to take advantage of that. Our guide, Terri, was excellent and taught... More
