We are life long professional horse people so when we do one of these "trail rides" we approach with a very critical eye. Basically no one can pass the test. We took a two plus hour tour of the Gettysburg Battle Field with Hickory Hollow. I will tell you we give them very high marks. First the horses were very... More

After researching other farms in the area with similar services, I am so glad we chose Hickory Hollow. Pam was extremely accommodating, as we wanted to schedule a ride on a certain day, for seven adults on relatively short notice. Also, some of us are serious riders and we can be...particular! Pam and her horses exceeded all expectations. Our beginner... More

Pam loves her four legged babies, and her care of them is evident. The horses were all so very well trained and paired with each rider based on the rider's needs. My mother had recently a had a pratial knee replacement surgery, so Sunny was her match. My father got to ride on James (a huge beautiful boy). My sister... More

We booked our battlefield trail ride very last-minute as a bit of a whim, but it ended up being a highlight of our Gettysburg trip. Pam and her family were very friendly and relaxed and didn't treat riding as if it were a big deal. They clearly trust their horses to behave. We were given very minimal instruction on riding... I came with a 10 year old who had never been on a horse before. The staff were not welcoming to us at all; made us walk to a table behind their horse trailers to get a consent form and a helmet which was hidden behind a trailer. Gave no explanation about the horses selected for us or any reassurance... More

I LOVED this ride. You are on beautiful horses, riding on the real battlefield along Pickett's charge and listening to a registered guide that makes the events come alive. Pam is the Boss and she will handle all your questions via phone or email leading up to the day. Bring water, camera and a hat. (and cash to tip the... More

Very well organised and instructed horse back ride through the battlefields. The tour guide was highly knowledgeable and despite the heat (over 90 degrees) I enjoyed the experience very much. Well worth the money.

We had a group of 8 and there were probably 5 other people we didn't know on the ride with us. We had Terry (a licensed guide) with us. Boy, she knows her history. We choose the 2 hour ride which was a good length for the non riders in the group. The history that Terry provides is so great.... More

The whole experience was awesome! Pam was very professional and did a perfect job of matching riders and horses. Our guide Tasha was great and I love the fact that her daughter gets to participate when possible. What a lucky little girl! When I make it back to Gettysburg, I will definitely be doing this again (though next time with... More

This was our second time riding. I loved every minute of it. Pam is such a great guide, and owner. These horses are very lucky to have her. She knows them inside and out. To what horse will be best you. I can not state how much I love this place. And will be doing it again soon.
