Looking to see a little wild life without having to travel too far? The Turtleback zoo is a nice option in North Jersey. Although on the day that I went it was raining and many of the animals in outdoor enclosures were taking shelter, I still found plenty to see during my visit. The reptile area and the kimodo dragon... More

Our first visit to this zoo. Well-kept grounds, quite a variety of large and small animals, and buildings in which we could warm up made this zoo visit a success for the kids. The sting ray touch tank, and the sea lions made the top of everyone's list. We got in on the last few days of Winter pricing, but... More

Turtle Back Zoo is a great little zoo. It seems that every time we go back there is a new exhibit. This zoo offers a little of everything: unique animals- red panda, gibbons & kimono dragon etc, a cute little train ride, carousel and mini-golf. Very reasonably priced and spotless; a must for anyone with small children.

We went for the treetop ropes course and zip line which I highly recommend for the more adventurous. The zoo was average with a collection of animals from different areas around the world. The animals looked as happy as they could be in a zoo, well-cared for and clean enclosures. The grounds were nice, some hilly spots to walk up... More

This was the most horrifying zoo I've ever visited. The animals were kept in inhumane enclosures where they had no room to move around. The bobcat was circling its cage over and over as if it was losing its mind. Most of the other animals lay in their cages and were clearly lethargic and depressed. One of the penguins had... More

Went to the zoo in February when there was still a lot of snow but it was a lot of fun. There were only a couple animals that werent out because of the cold and there weren't many people there so we were able to see everything really well and get a good view. We'll be going back in the... More

We took two of our granddaughters to the zoo, and it was a great experience for all of us! There is sometihng for many age groups, particularly younger children, under 12 years old. The climbing up and down hills is a bit difficult if you are not a good walker. I would expect it could be a physical challenge for... More
